  1. Okay so here is the latest news from BC Nursing department. Calls were made yesterday to those accepted and alternates for Spring. Letters were mail to these candidates today. Letters for the other students who were not chosen due to lack of availability will be mailed next week. :-(
  2. I broke down and called today. They said letters some letters will go out to be delivered next week and the rest by the end of October. It makes me wonder since they have been short staffed, that if they are making calls to those who were accepted because it is so late. I mean those who are accepted have requirements they must meet before they get their seat and before alternates or waitlist candidates can be considered. Those others will not receive a call rather only a letter at the end of the month. I know I'm over analyzing the situation but why else would they make calls to some people with their application status. Samantha Elizabeth your friend of a friend who got the call, did they make plans for Teas testing or an appointment to go to the department? I wish I would get a call to tell me either way, either in or not. I'm so tired of the anxiety and to top it off friends and family randomly asking for an update on whether or not I have heard back from BC. If I don't get in this time I am for sure going to apply for a sponsored seat with the hospitals, all of them!! And I was looking at classes for next semester wanting to take pathophysiology but looks like it's not being offered. Bummer! Well here's to Thursday and almost the end of the work week. Hopefully those envelopes get sealed and put in the mail today and tomorrow. Good luck again to everyone! !
  3. I think the remediation program is great opportunity. Congrats on the call back!
  4. I haven't heard anything yet, and nothing in the mail as of yesterday. I am going to pick up my son from school and then to check today's mail. I will let you know as soon as I hear anything. I'm anxious to call but end up putting the phone down every time. Anyhow. I just think we need to hang in there. It should be soon that everyone starts to hear back :-)
  5. Mariammc, I know you were taking Nurs 100 this semester, have they said anything in there about when letters are going out? Unfortunately I had to drop all my classes this semester and heal from a broken ankle that happened the week before school started. I want to just forget about the waiting and I do for the most part. I try to focus on healing my ankle with the goal in mind that I need to be ready to be start the program in January.
  6. That's what I was wondering about... I was wondering when the accepted but not chosen letters would be sent out. So frustrating. Now I have to update my parents and husband so they know why I'm on pins and needles still. Myself and my family were thinking this was a good sign that I didn't get a letter this week, but there is still waiting yet to do! I can't believe this is taking so long. I'm frustrated and nervous and hopefully praying that the letters come out sooner than what they said. Makes me wonder if they've already chosen the names by lottery yet!?! Thanks again for the update!
  7. That's great to hear. Thanks for the update!
  8. I know I called yesterday for an update. That's basically the same response I got. They said rejection letters will go out in the next couple weeks, by the end of September, and expect acceptance letters in late October. Good luck!
  9. I hope so as well, good luck!
  10. Yes family is another full time job especially a 1y/o. I have a senior and freshman in high school and 2nd grader and my husband works 6 days a week 11 hour days. The only other school in town is CSUB and some other community colleges near Bakersfield, but those other CC's make for a lot of driving and gas expenses. My nursing 100 is on Wednesday but at 130.
  11. Hi Beth, I was wondering if you applied for Spring 2015 at BC or if you have heard anything about application status?
  12. Miriammc, Welcome to Bakersfield! Are you applying anywhere else for a nursing program? Let me know if you hear anything back from BC. I thought they had switched to merit based system but was told it is lottery. Oh well I have good hopes of entering into the program soon, family and friends prayers. I'm taking nursing 100 this semester but no other classes left to take. I will also be studying for Teas test with a book I purchased to keep busy :-)
  13. I was told that letters will be sent out late September early October. But hopefully we will here something sooner. Is this the first time you applied to the program too?
  14. Hi JHerrera, Have you applied to BC?
