bad grades = no nursing school?

I am student who knows what i want to do after being out of highschool for a few years! I want to be a nurse although i am scared because my college transcript is not so good .I fear once i complete my pre-reqs ( they are all A's and B's) i will not be able to get into nursing school . It has not been that long so everything will be viewed by the school i apply to. I was very stupid and made to go to school when i wasnt ready , now i am so scared i will never live it down! I am looking for someone who may have been in my shoes or know someone who got into school with a bad transcript! I am really freaking out and fear I will never be able to become a nurse !:banghead:

I am looking for some hope!!!!

What school are you trying to get into? Because most school I've inquired on the nursing program, only require the nursing prerequisites as the GPA. Some even allow you to pick the classes you want included in your GPA (under conditions, such as 4 science classes, Etc). Maybe you should contact an advisor at your school. They would be better to help:specs:. Also, view some of the threads too. I think there's a whole thing o bad gpa and what not's.:typing i wish you the best Oh!! Maybe you should think about going thru the programs like this LVN, then RN and RN-BSN. That seems to helps a lot of students get through the nursing programs. Hope this help:twocents:

If you know you want to be a nurse, then go for it, don't let the fearness or scareness get on your way. Also having a bad transcript does not mean you can't be a nurse, you can retake the pre-reqs to improve your gpa, or try the lvn-RN brigde or apply to the schools that have lottery system.

I totally agree. You said you have all A's and B's for pre-req? Thats no where NEAR bad. Don't give up!!

I'm on the exact same boat you're in. I started two semesters at my state college and got kicked out (Due to family problems). I went back to school and did my nursing prereqs and managed to get all A's and maybe 2 B's. I just turned in my application and also sent all of my transcripts. I'm thinking if they look at my grades and see how i transitioned from a bad student to an outstanding student might no be too bad at all.
