I had an interview on an OB floor last week and was called in for a 2nd interview tomorrow with some of the nurses, a peer interview. I was arrested in 2006 for domestic violence but was not charged with the crime. It was dismissed on court cost. I'm worried like CRAZY about this and need some advice... I didn't have any trouble getting licensed here in Alabama. I did have to send in a copy of the case action summary and once I did that I was authorized to test for NCLEX. The hospital I'm interviewing at does background/drug screens after they interview and select. Any advice? Need some help...
I have two misdemeanors from six years ago and i just finished submitting my documentation to the VA BON yesterday. This is just to take my state test to become a CNA. I'm hoping that I'm able to take it and it won't affect me down the line because I apply for nursing school in March.
Good luck with the process, let me know how long it takes and what they say. I'm curious if it takes a long time to just even sit for nclex. Also, did you put on the application what you had done and then just submitted documentation all at once? That is what I want to do to not hold up the process.

Thanks. I put the information on the application as well as sending in the info about my convictions. They sent me a letter to write a statement about what happened and what have I done to change and if I had to pay court fines and etc. I sent all of that in Monday.

Any word back yet, I am curious how long Va BON takes with incidents like this...UGH.
I am concerned about trying to get certified documentation b/c I contacted the courts and the records get tossed after ten years. So how do you get anyting that is official to give them?
