Back to the NICU :)

Hello everyone:

Well I am going back to the NICU again. I worked in a level III for 2.5 years as a new grad and then left for a better schedule and less stress. I have worked in a pediatric neurology outpatient clinic for the last five years and have loved it. I learned tons and I got to see some of the "ex-preemies", but didn't feel very challenged. I've worked PRN in a level III nursery for the last 2.5 years so I have "kept my foot in the door". I could just never bring myself to give NICU up completely. There is just something about those babies. I start full-time in another level III NICU next week. I am very excited, but a little nervous as well. I will be leaving my comfort zone, but my dream is to be a successful NICU nurse for the long term. If and when things get tough for me I will be coming here for support and advice :)

Wish me luck!!

My motto is "NO pts >15#s!! It does get in your heart, for sure.

:chuckle My cut off is 13.

Goes along with my old motto: I the bottom is bigger than my hand I don't wanna wipe it.

Blew that one out of the water when I went to ER.
