Bachelors in Liberal studies ~>MSN degree???

Is this route possible? Can I get my bachelors degree in health studies or liberal arts and then apply to an MSN program?

Nope- you need a BS in nursing to get an MSN UNLESS you go for a direct entry MSN (not common at all). Why get either of those degrees you mention? They are not degrees that lead to jobs. Why not just GO TO NURSING SCHOOL?

So, in other words, Yes, it's possible.

UCONN and Southern have RN-MSN programs for individuals that have bachelors degrees in something besides nursing.

I am in a direct entry MSN program at the University of Southern Maine. I'm in the psych NP track. I have a BA in psychology with no nursing experience.

Also Yale I believe also offers a program such as this. I've heard some concerns from nurses saying you can't really teach nursing in one year like these programs do. You do a rotation for about 6 weeks and then move on to the next. If it's something you want look into the programs and their reputation. It is a lot easier and cheaper to just get a Bachelor's in Nursing instead of doing an MSN if that's not what you want to do.
