Hi all!
I'm applying for APU's ELM program for Spring 2017 and I was curious to see who else was applying :) maybe we could chat about the application process!
Oh wow! I am not very familiar with Western. When I was trying to find the right program I picked Azusa because they offer so many extras like Nurse Educator and Nurse Administrator by just completing the electives. Also there is a year in-between the BSN and the start of the MSN they count in there because you have to have a certain amount of clinical hours before you can qualify for the FNP exam.
I looked at other programs like the ones at Western and UCLA, but it just seemed like Azusa had more to offer. I liked the layout of their program, the fact that we earn a BSN and MSN, that we need to work as an RN during the masters portion, and that we take all of the required courses to sit for the FNP certification exam. There's just so many pros and like zero cons for me haha. And Western is soooooo much more expensive....I was shocked to see how much cheaper Azusa was.
Thank you :) and yeah, I'm pretty sure that's how it works. They told me in the interview as well that we would be notified by mail, but I've also read that some people get an email beforehand with login credentials for the APU site and that lets them know that they've been accepted. I haven't reviewed that email though :)
Hey BR89!Though this info might help, I spoke with the Monrovia Director yesterday and everyone who has been accepted into the Monrovia campus has been emailed. I do not know about the IE campus. He did say that they only accept 20 people and then if those 20 decide not to go they extend additional acceptances. I'll be going to Monrovia Spring 2017, very excited!

Got it! The reason why I asked that question is because I've been accepted to Western MSNE program and I am debating between western and azusa. Western is 3 years, but its only for the MSN portion, no FNP. Azusa is also more cheaper. Anyways, thank you so much for the explanation GCNorthRim!
