APU ELM Fall 2018
Hi all, I got into Fall 2018 but haven't taken biochemistry... all of the community colleges near me are full. I could take it online through one of those universities that offer all classes but it's crazy expensive like $1000 to $1600 per class. Does anyone else have to take this or anyone who has taken a biochem class, where did you do it??

APU ELM Fall 2018
Actually, I emailed them twice asking for a status update because I was accepted to another school that starts next week that was not my top choice and really needed to make a decision. They responded and let me know over email. In general, my impression is that they call you or you receive a status update from the school via email prior to a call. But I'm not 100% sure. I got an email from a coordinator saying i'll be receiving my acceptance packet via mail shortly and she said she's been "late" on getting those out due to sickness, so maybe some will come through mail! The first time I did not get in after an interview, they told me i didn't have a certain prereq that I actually had. I sent them a syllabus and they confirmed that I did meet the criteria, and rolled my application over to the next cycle which I interview for again. After that, I took a year off and did some extra stuff to boost my resume and reapplied. I don't know if they'll roll it over for any reason or it was only because of that specific circumstance with my class. But I had an interview each time. Hope that helps!

APU ELM Fall 2018
Hi all, just wanted to let you know that many people have received acceptances in December, but if you didn't that doesn't mean you didn't get in. I was just notified of acceptance for Fall 2018 FNP program (IE campus) today and there will be some more to come in January. I also wanted to let everyone know that this is my 3rd time applying. I have a BS in health science, 3.2 overall GPA, 3.4 last 60, and 3.8 prereq. I've been working as a bicycle mechanic the last 5 years, but have volunteer experience w/ nursing and PA but no paid positions. Since my first time applying, I improved my essay, took more classes (psych, nutrition, interpersonal communication), became a microbio TA, and volunteered more. I just wanted to give those hope that have been out of school for a while and don't have the best stats or experience. Reapplying is a GOOD idea!!! Good luck to everyone who hasn't heard and to those applying. Looking forward to seeing others at school.

FAQ on WGU and their pass/fail grading, and transcripts
I am interested in an accelerated BSN program that does P = 4.0 and NP = 0.0 on the transcript. However, my end goal is to become a FNP and I'm worried that this will negatively influence my chances. Any insight?

Roseman University ABSN (didactic online)
I heard from the advisor at NV that confirmed what you said - pass/no pass with 4.0 included. NursingCAS does require you to input your grade but if P=4.0 can't you technically just write "4.0" or I guess it's more of an issue when the system tries to calculate your GPA and freaks out. Ugh I afraid to commit to a school and waste my time if it impedes my ability to apply to schools. She said "students haven't had a problem moving on to Master Degree programs" but who knows.. they could be schoools in the boonies for all I know.

Roseman University ABSN Grads
Hi there, thank you for all this info! I'm from Chino Hills, CA so it gives me hope that you found a job in Whittier. My end goal is to become a nurse practitioner so I had some questions. 1. Does NV do pass/no pass or actual GPA? 2. Will having pass/no pass & hybrid learning format affect my chances of acceptance into an NP program to your knowledge? Thanks in advance.

Roseman University ABSN (didactic online)
Hey guys, I'm also from california and have a BS in health science and want to apply to the ABSN program in NV where my relatives live. I have a 3.08 overall and 3.28 science gpa with all the prereqs completed. For my stats, this seems like a good option but I have some concerns. 1. Is NV also doing this pass/no pass format? 2. My end goal has always been to become a nurse practitioner and I'm wondering how this a) pass/no pass and b) hybrid learning format could affect my chances of getting into an NP school. Do they look at roseman and choose students from other programs over it. Any advice would be appreciated.

Azusa Pacific University ELM Spring 2017
Thanks briforsure! So basically if you haven't heard, you're either accepted or rejected at this point? It sounds like most people are finding out by receiving that email with an apu login. Is that different for the azusa campus? They send mail letters instead? Congrats by the way!!

Azusa Pacific University ELM Spring 2017
Has anyone heard anything for the Azusa or IE campus? I was told we would hear around the 14th or 15th. It sounds like some of you have heard back for the SD campus so I'm wondering what to expect. Thanks!
