Average Review Scores Please

Published

Hi. My first post here. I'm going to be taking the NCLEX in a month or so and I have been reviewing a few weeks or months, because for 325 dollars, I want to one shot this exam.

As for what I am using to review, I am using only free resources or resources from the library and friends.

What I want to get a feel for here, using AllNurses community, is to see how people were scoring up until they took the NCLEX RN itself. For example, on Saunders computer program you were scoring 50-60s, up until the actual exam, and you still passed the NCLEX come test day.

Please provide information, because every few weeks I get nervous and look at how other people did up until their exam, and so far, there are no modern threads that seem to organize the information well. (Most are before 2012 that I've seen)

Here are my scores so far.

Kaplan

Assessment: 73%

QT1: 62%

QT2-QT7 I plan to do one every few days, and will update.

Saunders Computer program

65%-75%

On the Saunders compute program, I have done maybe 2000+, but definitely more than 1500 questions, and the 65-75 is my average scoring range.

The newest program I found was from Lippincotts, which is done by PrepU, The Point. The program offers a 2 week free trial, instead of paying 90+ dollars for, which I am taking full advantage of since I got it two days ago. I have done 275 questions on it so far in exam mode.

What makes PrepU unique, is that they have a 0 to 8 scale of mastery (8 = good).

The problem is, they use a CAT (Computer Adaptive Test) on their program, which is pretty good, but kind of glitchy, because I can go 25 questions correct and it doesn't throw me into the high mastery levels yet.

With that, the PrepU/LWW/Lippincott says the "Approximate passing threshold" is a mastery level of 4.

Exam 1: 75 items, I achieved a mastery level of 6.6

Exam 2: 100 items, I achieved a mastery level of 8 (Yay!)

Exam 3: 100 items, I achieved a mastery level of 6.6 (Fudge)

I plan to do 100 more everyday until my trial expires, but as of right now, they say my mastery level is 7.07. Well above their 4 threshold, which states "Your performance is comparable to students who passed the NCLEX exam".

That's my experience and scores so far. I would like to consolidate or compare myself to other scores, to see if I have a good chance of one shotting the NCLEX, or if I need to step my game up even more.

So please, post your approximate NCLEX review scores with whatever software or system you used, so that other people can refer back to this thread, because for sure, I am not the only one curious on whether I can pass or not with my current scores.

Thank you for those who participate or who post input.

Waiting on pins an needles to hear how you did! I'm testing December 9th so I'm extremely nervous. I used Prep U in school and honestly hated it, I thought everything was all memorization level questions but I've never had scores anywhere near as high as yours. So maybe I should give it another shot..... But first I'll see how you did, so good luck and keep us posted!

Damn thanksgiving. I took the exam on tuesday. But texas usually updates tuesday thursday. But t was thanksgicing for them on thursday friday. And im too cheap for quick results, cause i think its insulting to pay 8 dollars to find out we failed. But pearaon vue trick gave me the good pop up, but i want to be sure ans not get my hopes up.

Try running your name through TBON. It's worked for all my friends.

Tried it on their license verify thing. Name won't show up till the days they update, usually Tuesday Thursday. Til then, I'm on a waiting game lol.

TheAverageMan hope you hear good news! My scores for Qtrainers 7 total is 60% I am happy because I improved from the first time but scared my boards in few days!!!

I passed, I'm on the State site. PVT worked for me as well. I managed to pass with all of those scores, at around 115-120ish questions. Had like 1 document to look at, 1 picture to guess the disease, and 1 EKG, rest were SATA or normal questions.

Congrats man! My scores on NCSBN have been in the 60's. And I decided to up my test, I was going to test next Wednesday the 10th, now I've gotten tired of waiting, so I rescheduled it to Saturday the 6th. I'm happy you passed! That's awesome! How many SATA do you think you had?

TheAverageMan Congrats! My board in two days! My Kaplan average were similar I almost done with PDA and I am a nervous to do my second attempt!!

I honestly didn't count my SATA, cause after 75, I was like "Fudge, I might make it to 265". If I had to guess how many out of 120, I'd say 1/3. But that's just a guess, cause it's all a blur to me now.

I am happy for you that you passed! Good luck in your career! keep me in your prayer! I am just exhausted from studying so ready to take it...

Yeah I know the feeling lol. I always counted my SATA and the others by keeping a tally on my board, cause I wanted to know how good I was doing.... But it honestly never did help. I think this time I'm not even gonna bother lol.
