Austin Community College ADN Spring 2020

Published

Hi pre-nursing students!

So I know it's extremely early but I figured I'd go ahead and start a thread for Spring 2020 applicants. I'm a huge worry bug and have tons of questions and would love to give and receive advice throughout this process. I'm completing my last two prerequisites this spring and will be applying when the application opens on May 15th! Tell me about your journey and ask questions about mine!

Nope, but from past threads, it seems like the first emails for petitions might go out the first week of July but who knows if it holds up to this year.

Hey guys I took the HESI on 7/1. The proctor which is also a nursing advisor mentioned how they extended the application date until 8/12 because of people taking summer classes. The only thing she mentioned about nursing skills was that sometimes everyone that applies might not get to take it because all of the slots may be full, and if you don't take nursing skills you can't start the program. Has anyone else heard of that? Not sure if I was misunderstanding what she was saying.

There are a limited number of classes but I would imagine they have at least 160 spots. I wonder if they are going to issue the first rounds of petitions soon since the first classes start in August and they are still waiting on enough applicants to fill those classes?

This whole process is... confusing.

The advisor I talked to last fall warned me about waiting too long to apply, saying the sooner you apply the better because there has been cases of not enough spots open in the skills class. :(

The process is a bit confusing, at least they have updated the application status page for Spring 2020. Fingers crossed for July 15th to get here soon!

That's what I was hoping I wasn't misunderstanding about it .... If they offer it to you there must be a seat available for you at a campus but I also took it as there might not be? ? I hope petitions go out soon having some kind of update about the process would be helpful.

I feel like I may have applied too late but I noticed they opened another HESI date for 7/19 and extended the application deadline 1 month. Maybe not enough people have applied yet so I will hope for the best. I completely missed that on the page for checking the application status but I see it now!

Fall 2019 RNSG 1105 Petitions: 07/01/2019)

For new applicants and re-applicants for Spring 2020 class:

The 1st and 2nd 10 weeks of Fall 2019 petitions for 1105 will be sent the week of July 15, 2019.

Do y'all know what skills we learn in 1105? I found this but those skills don't seem like enough to take up an 8 hour day, much less an 8 week class.

Hi! Just found this thread. I also applied to the SPRING 2020 program in early June. Looks like first round of petition emails will be sent out the week of 7/15.

How's everyone feeling?

So anxious ??. I feel like I applied too late june 19th (due to finishing up hep vaccines) & also feel that my 36 points might be too low?. Well see????

I don't think anytime in June is too late, especially because they wouldn't have extended the deadline (at least imo)
