Austin Community College ADN Spring 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi pre-nursing students!

So I know it's extremely early but I figured I'd go ahead and start a thread for Spring 2020 applicants. I'm a huge worry bug and have tons of questions and would love to give and receive advice throughout this process. I'm completing my last two prerequisites this spring and will be applying when the application opens on May 15th! Tell me about your journey and ask questions about mine!

Sent mine in at the end of May so now it's just a waiting game!

Can u update when they let you register for the skills class please? From what I know they pick those according to who applies first?

Hi! I sent my application on May too! I'm so nervous! I heard they usually send the official acceptance letters on October. do you guys know which campus is better for the nursing program ? I heard east view is better, but not sure!

Thank you!

I know before acceptance letters they send emails allowing you to register for the nursing skills class and that's what I am curious about. How do they pick those? I've heard its according to who submitted their application first and not necessarily points.

I've heard all the campuses are pretty much the same??‍♀️.

Yes they do!. I think is based on who submitted the application first and I think they also try to see if you have a fair GPA (but i'm not 100 percent sure about that last part).

Does anyone now what was the lowest ranking that they accepted for the past application? I'm curious to see what are the ranking gpa that they usually accept.

Ohh good to know, I read in other blog that RR professors were a little rough, but honestly I have no idea because I don't know anyone actually inside the program.

Last year a friend of mine got in with two cs. I can never find out that info, what was the lowest GPA, and how many people apply in general.

Fingers crossed that the petitions for the skills class go out sooner rather than later.

I've looked back at other threads for past application periods and it's been a bit all over the place. From what I remember the advisor told me that normally 200 people apply and 160 get in but that was a year ago.

Still, the waiting game makes me a stress ball of worry.

Hi! I took my HESI yesterday and the advisor said that they hand out petitions based on when you apply. She also said that if they have around 220 applicants closer to the deadline, they won't extend the deadline, so I think that's the magic number. 160 get in.

I haven't been able to find out ranking numbers either. I should have around a 41. I hope that's good enough!

With a 41 you should be pretty solid. I do wish they would update the application status to give us more information then what's on there now.
