Nursing Students School Programs

Hi pre-nursing students!

So I know it's extremely early but I figured I'd go ahead and start a thread for Spring 2020 applicants. I'm a huge worry bug and have tons of questions and would love to give and receive advice throughout this process. I'm completing my last two prerequisites this spring and will be applying when the application opens on May 15th! Tell me about your journey and ask questions about mine!

According to my calculations ? I have 36 points ?. Ugh it's hard to figure out ones odds considering reapplicants also get 5 points. I'll keep up here if anything changes on my end??

I feel ya. I'm sitting at a 37.22 I think is what it was when I double checked what my calculation was the other day. So my fingers are crossed as we sit and wait.

Hi! I took my HESI yesterday and the advisor said that they hand out petitions based on when you apply. She also said that if they have around 220 applicants closer to the deadline, they won't extend the deadline, so I think that's the magic number. 160 get in.

I haven't been able to find out ranking numbers either. I should have around a 41. I hope that's good enough!

Thank you so much for the info!!! Last semester they didn't extended the deadline , so I'm assuming that they had the 220 applicants. Wondering if like now they have the Bachelor too more people are interested in the program

Does anyone know how to calculate the nursing GPA in the first part of the equation for the ranking? do I have to add the co requisites or it's just the pre-requisites ?

Rank = (Nursing GPA) X (# of degree plan courses completed) + (HESI Points) + (Review points earned)

So I use this SITE to quickly put in all my classes and grades then just plug the rest in. If you have taken the co reqs you add that into the Nursing GPA then plug in the # of courses all together you took, the HESI Points and the review points (which should be 6 if it's your first time applying)

At least that's what I did!

They extended the deadline to August 12th!

This means they dont have enough applications? Ugh so nervous

Sigh. I was hoping that even know they extended they would at least give us a timetable of when new info would go out.

How did u find out they extended it by refreshing the application status page? I know they've updated it there. Is there anywhere else one can look for updates?

Yall haven't gotten any emails right??

I saw it on the application page when I was printing my application docs.
