Hi pre-nursing students!
So I know it's extremely early but I figured I'd go ahead and start a thread for Spring 2020 applicants. I'm a huge worry bug and have tons of questions and would love to give and receive advice throughout this process. I'm completing my last two prerequisites this spring and will be applying when the application opens on May 15th! Tell me about your journey and ask questions about mine!

Hahah I feel this on a serious level!! I’ve alraady ran out of ink once
Sooo this is random BUTTTT...
One of my regulars at work is a lady In her 30s who is currently in a fellowship for DPT (doctor of physical therapy). I saw her today and she gave me SOME really good study tips. I took her advice and finished my notes/learning guides for the first two modules in a waaay shorter period of time that I would have doing it my old way.
Her tips:
1) COLOR CODE: she said she labels her highlighter for different uses ( ex: purple = definition, green= important, blue= main topic)
2) Charts in the books will summarize most of the reading and they are your best friend so I remade them in a word document in way that made sense to me
3) type your notes Instead is writing so you can add more if you need to ( LIFE SAVER)
4) read the intro and summary to chapters first so you know what will be important to take note of
anyhow, these were just a few hours her tips and they worked amazing.
side note, she flipped to a random chapter in my book, found the review questions, and answered all of them without reading and got them all right. TALK ABOUT IMPRESSED

I printed all mine at work lol, sooooo much paper!!

My handwriting is so messy but once I started doing everything by hand (or with my Apple Pencil on my iPad) my grades totally improved.
Just my two cents!
I’m more of writing person myself as well. I decide to type the things I thought would be easier to comprehend and write the things I thought would be harder for me to learn. Still color coding my notes and highlighting in my book too.
My book is so pretty now lol.
Has anyone used their iPad & the ipad pen thing yet to load the course work for skills? I am not familiar with the app u use for it . I've been looking at purchasing an ipad for that reason since I seen so many people use it in prerequisite classes to load their notes and stuff & it looked preety cool. Also wouldn't have to deal with all that paper . How much of a hassle is it to load course work onto it though? Thanks!

I use goodnotes and have no issues importing PowerPoints.

When I started A&P 1, I asked my family to pool resources for my birthday so I could get an iPad that works with the Apple Pencil.
I use the notability app. It records lectures while I take notes and will play back the audio to show me what I was writing at that specific time in the recording.
It is invaluable to me. I convert all PowerPoints into PDFs and then import into the notability app on my iMac (yeah I’m so deep in the Apple tech, my boyfriend is one of the Apple IT techs for homeaway).
I can also convert my chicken scratch into fonts and search handwriting.
