Austin Community College ADN Spring 2020

Published

Hi pre-nursing students!

So I know it's extremely early but I figured I'd go ahead and start a thread for Spring 2020 applicants. I'm a huge worry bug and have tons of questions and would love to give and receive advice throughout this process. I'm completing my last two prerequisites this spring and will be applying when the application opens on May 15th! Tell me about your journey and ask questions about mine!

I just got an iTunes gift card as a rebate so I think I'm going to get Notability. I like that it records.

I use notability and I love it, it’s syncs well with my MacBook and you can record lectures with it as well. I use my IPad to take notes in class then rewrite them by hand, just helps the info stick.

When I was taking the RNSG 1105 class, I tried using the Ipad and took notes and also record the lecture because that was working for me in micro and ap class. but I realized that the test is based on scenario and information on the powerpoint and the performance checklists. the questions on the evolve practice test helps also.

Hey y'all!

Seton Main is hiring techs for 6S Neuro. My manager will work around school schedules and she's pretty awesome.

If you're interested, email me at [email protected] and I'll give you her info.

Thanks for posting this! But Pardon my ignorance what is a tech? Is that a medical technician? Do you need a certification or degree of sorts for it?

It's a clinical assistant. Like a CNA but no certification (besides BLS) needed. On the job training! I've been one for 4 months and am learning so much!

Did anyone have their first skills class today? If so, How’d it go? Hope y’all are feeling confident ?

How did everyone’s first week of nursing skills go? I don’t start until the second 10 weeks. What color scrubs is everyone wearing? Not sure what color I should get

Nursing skills was fun! Lots of putting gowns on and taking them off again.

I got black scrubs. I didn't want to wear my work scrubs.

Everyone check your email for background check letters!
