Aurora University Applicants 2014

Published

Hey, I'm officially waiting on the acceptance to the nursing school of AU. I got my TEAS V score today and its a 72. Not too happy with it, but honestly I only studied the science portion and for a week. So I guess it's not too shabby. I have a GPA of 3.5.

Hopefully I've caught the eyes of other AU applicants out here. Feel free to share your scores and hopefully we get in!

Wow, you definitely had a good GPA and Teas score @mymatter. I just read the past comments! Turns out my friend is #33 on the waitlist. The waitlist was quite long this year I guess! I'm sure you will be just fine :).

What?! That doesnt make sense! I hope you'll be fine. If NIU accepts me, I dont know which program I'll choose. Im sure there are a lot of people trying to choose between different schools.

Did you schedule a meeting with an advisor? I did for April 2, but I don't want to register for classes just yet until I hear back from UIC...

@PaulDee I hope so! I wonder how many people applied and how many were accepted. That makes me feel better knowing the list is that long.

No, I haven't yet! I was gonna hold off until I here from NIU, but that is gonna be until the end of April- ugh, way too long. I guess ill try to schedule and appointment asap. Im so confused. I dont wanr to register either, but I also dont want to get stuck with a crappy schedule...

Yea same, I don't hear back from UIC until mid-April :(. I'll schedule an appointment just to get an idea of the schedule and make sure I don't have any outstanding prereqs left. Also, I would be interested in taking patho over the summer. Anyways, let me know if you decide to register and if you get into NIU! :)

And anyone attend a nursing information session yet?

Hi all, I am a current nursing student at AU. If anyone has questions I will be glad to answer.

Hello, I was wondering if you had to attend a nursing orientation/info session? If so, did you just call the SON and ask for dates to attend? Our acceptance letter stated we need to attend a mandatory nursing info session, but that's it.

Yes I did. Everyone has to attend that meeting. You will get all the information you need at that time for all required documents needed before you can start such as physicals, background checks, CPR,uniforms and much more. If I remember correctly I received a call with the dates and you had to sign up for one of them. I would recommend that if you can, take patho over the summer.

FYI: I'm #20 on wait list, hehe made me giggle, but a year ago, I wasn't even on a wait list so progress is good :) anyhow Looking forward to applying again next year! Congrats to those who've been accepted and are starting their nursing journey this fall! Keep us posted!=D
