Hey, I'm officially waiting on the acceptance to the nursing school of AU. I got my TEAS V score today and its a 72. Not too happy with it, but honestly I only studied the science portion and for a week. So I guess it's not too shabby. I have a GPA of 3.5.
Hopefully I've caught the eyes of other AU applicants out here. Feel free to share your scores and hopefully we get in!
I love it so far. Nursing school is not easy by any means. It has been very stressful and I am always afraid that I am going to fail a test which could put me in jeopardy of not passing the class which means starting junior year over. So it is stressful. My suggestion would be to get patho in this summer and take the rest of the summer off if you can unless you have pre-req's to finish up. You will get a book list at your information meeting, which may not be all your books it might just be for your 3100 class so double check when you get that list. I would recommend buying your books online over the summer to save you money instead of buying them from the book store. I saved over $500 by doing this. If you are still deciding whether or not to come to AU for nursing I highly recommend coming here. I was excepted into another program as well but chose AU and I am glad I did. Being in clinical a at different sites I have heard bad things about the other school I was going to choose.

Do you commute? My commute would be 45min-1 hr depending on traffic. Also, the days you have clinicals do you have class?
I also have heard goood things about au.... Do you work? Do you have kids? Sorry, i just want to see how hard is to work have kids and go to nursing school
Hey Gabby, I am a bit worried too.. I work nights and will probably have to lessen my hours .. I can't imagine working and having young children too! You're truly determined! :)

My sister also went to AU fot nursing and she said she would not change her decision if she could go back in time. She also said that she didnt hear the best of things about NIU nursing, which is the program I am waiting to hear from. NIU is where I got my degree, and I had a great experience there. Is NIU the other program you got into by any chance?
