Aurora University Applicants 2014

Published

Hey, I'm officially waiting on the acceptance to the nursing school of AU. I got my TEAS V score today and its a 72. Not too happy with it, but honestly I only studied the science portion and for a week. So I guess it's not too shabby. I have a GPA of 3.5.

Hopefully I've caught the eyes of other AU applicants out here. Feel free to share your scores and hopefully we get in!

I'll definitely inquire about that meeting! And I'm sure we will learn more information in the next upcoming weeks :)

rrenej, I have a question, did you take patho over the summer or during the fall? Im leaning to taking it in the fall, and ive been wondering if it will be doable

I took it over the summer. I am so glad that I did. I know people who did take it in the fall and struggle with it because tests always fell on the same days as other tests. It's just a lot of information that you have to learn and remember. Trust me I was overwhelmed in the fall without patho. Also if you don't have a level 3000 general course completed our advisor will try to get you to take that in the fall. I ended up dropping that class because of the workload and I am taking it this summer.

Could we possibly take that upper level gen ed along with patho over the summer?

Hello rrenej,

I appreciate the time you give us to help us learn more about auson. I do have a question for you. What choices do they give you for clinicals? I mean time and dates?...is it twice a week for how many hrs.? thank you!

Yes you can. You just have to make sure that the required class is available.

Your first semester you do not have a choice on the day. You only have one clinical day first semester and it is all day. Since the in coming class is so large I'm not sure of exact class days. They are usually on Tuesday and Thursday all day, plus you have two labs each week. For me my first semester I had one day of labs two days of lecture and one day of clinical.

Nice! I'll definitely try to do that. I want to make my fall semester as less overwhelming as possible.

I really appreciate the answers very helpful! I was just wondering how can you register for classes online? i signed in to webadvisor and wanted to choose classes but it said i wasnt approved to register online??

Do you know where clinical sites are? I'm currently an employee at Central DuPage Hospital and would love to do my clinicals there.. But I'm assuming clinical sites cannot be chosen?

Thanks for all your help too! I really appreciate it, because I don't know what to expect all that much.

Clinical sites are all over the area. You won't be able to choose your clinical site for first semester but second semester you get to choose your preference. Most get their preference second semester.

If you are a transfer student you can't register online. You have to meet with your advisor to register. Your advisor will actually register you for the full year. First and second semester classes when you with them to register.
