Has anybody else applied to Augusta University for the doctoral anesthesia program starting in 2019? Looking to start a discussion regarding the application/acceptance process.
Congrats! I've gone over possible interview questions in my head. I feel so weird talking about myself to myself! Lol. Not sure what is the best way to prepare for this except be me! Very excited for you btfly & I hope to join you in January
I don't think there is anyway to prepare other than to try to relax and be yourself. Mine had no clinical questions so nothing to study for to prepare.
1st an email from the office of admissions. The email said to expect a packet in the mail in the coming weeks. I waited and waited on the packet and it never came so I figured it may have been a mistake or that I hadn't really been accepted. Also, they said we wouldn't hear until May. I finally remembered that I had moved since applying to school and maybe the packet hadn't been forwarded. I called the admissions office last week and gave them my updated address and they sent a new packet out.Stressful couple of weeks not being really sure if I was in or not.
I'm not going to lie. I'm pretty jealous! What were your circumstances that made them send out early acceptance? We're you applying to other schools and needed an answer? Wondering if I don't get in, what I can do better for next time.
I did have a pending app out at another school, but it's not something that came up in my interview. I'm honestly not sure, but maybe they had a few they chose to select earlier. Until seeing the post that someone else has gotten accepted, I thought maybe it was a mistake for a while. I called admissions and Ms. Lewis to make sure.
Don't worry if you were round one and haven't heard-- that doesn't mean you don't still fit on their top 30 :)
I definitely agree. I'm sure it's a tough decision for the professors to make and not a job I would like to have.
How are you liking the program so far. Does it seem doable? Able to have a bit of a life outside of studying? I was going to try to work a couple days a month for the 1st year. Any of your classmates working?
Hi! Program is very intense but doable if you're willing to put in the necessary time and effort! I have somewhat of a life... I guess! :) I definitely find time to do the things I love or to step back if I need a break. Looking forward to our little 'summer' vacation starting Thursday though!
Some of my classmates work PRN. A few people started off working more, but I'd suggest taking a few weeks off at first to get the hang of the program before committing to a lot of time. :) But I teach a CNL class every week and it hasn't interfered!
I worked in Augusta so if you need any advice on Augusta hospitals, feel free to PM me.
I'll be the person planning the mentoring/buddy system for y'all's incoming class so I'm very excited!
Congrats to those who have been accepted and congrats to everyone who was offered an interview!!

Thanks for replying. Is the mentoring system something new? I think I vaguely heard one of the students mention something about it at the interview, but not much.
