Has anybody else applied to Augusta University for the doctoral anesthesia program starting in 2019? Looking to start a discussion regarding the application/acceptance process.
How'd you find out about 20? I thought there would only be about 5. Thus far, from this thread, seems like 3 or 4 of us are waitlisted?
I emailed Laura Lewis and asked specifically. We are ranked on a number scale, same as how they picked their top 30. With that being said, she stated they also take into consideration some of their notes from the interview and try to pick holistically. Do you know of any that were accepted from the alternate list?
As far as i'm aware, I don't know of anyone that's been called from the waitlist yet. I've "heard" that somewhere around 5-6 people have declined their seats due to getting into other programs. I'm not sure the accuracy of that, it just come from a current student in the program. So, it's really just hearsay. I personally know 1 other person waitlisted and 1 that was denied altogether.

That's interesting. Well, if people declined then I can only imagine some of the alternates were contacted. I was not one of them. Good luck and keep the hope alive!
Hey guys, sorry we've been MIA. Like I said, summer semester is HARD more in the time aspect than difficulty of material, but I digress. Anyway, to update, I know for a fact that people from the waitlist have been accepted, no idea how many. I would assume most programs starting in January will have made decisions by now and people are sticking with what they've got. So sorry to anyone who didn't get in this go, but PLEASE do not give up! If this is your dream, keep trying, working hard, elevating your GREs, GPAs and pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. If you have no idea how to do this, send me a private message and I'd love to talk to you about how to improve your standing. It gets harder each year, so if nothing changes from this year to next, I wouldn't expect an acceptance. Good luck to you all!
I would love to send you a private message but I don't have that capability yet. Please email me: [email protected]
Thanks!
