Augusta University CNL/MSN Entry Fall 2022

Published

Hey, applications are set to open up August 30th, so I figured I’d get a topic going for those of us applying! I will be reapplying this year, with an improved GPA. I’m fairly certain my previous application wasn’t considered due to my GPA. (NursingCAS calculated 2.97, it’s now improved to 3.2, I had a really bad Freshman year and made a huge improvement over the next years) I have a ton of different medical and volunteering experience, A’s and B’s in my prereq courses, and my bachelors degree is in Health Science, which goes so well with the CNL expectations. I really think I’d make an excellent nurse, but the application process still makes me feel so odd! It’s hard to sum up my reasons for wanting to be a nurse into a short essay!

I also wanted to mention that I live in Augusta, and would love to let y’all know more about the area if you’re not from around here! Just ask me what questions you have!

I wish everyone the best of luck with applying, and in their future nursing careers! ✌️

Wow! I'm trying to be like you!! I currently provide ABA therapy to kids with autism (an assistant behavior analyst), and I am hoping to get the PMHNP cert and work in child and adolescent psych.  I thought of going to FNP route too!  That's so awesome that you're pursuing the DNP.  Super cool ?

Thank you and thanks for the work you do now, its much needed.  Yes I really tricked myself into thinking I'd be nonchalant during this process and I feel as nervous as anyone else LOL.  I definitely will update people.  Im unsure if the CNL and DNP goes through the same committee but hopefully they'll release decisions this week!

It sounds like you have absolutely nothing to be nervous about!! You've totally got this.  And thank you!

I called Friday about if there were open spots in the MSN-CNL and they said there were still spots open so they would be looking at applications still. I submitted my app today for Athens (1st choice)!

That's great that there are still open spots! I'm hoping we all hear something soon!

Hear anything? Nothing for me yet, but a few people on the ZeeMee app got acceptance calls.

No, I called and they said my app is with the committee.  Not really sure what's going on, haven't seen any new posts on social media for any DNP acceptances, I've been stalking the hashing "augusta university DNP".  Im hoping to hear something before Spring break next week.  If not, im assuming its not going to be a yes.

Wow! They told you that your app was being reviewed? Well, I'm going to give them a call tomorrow to see if I can find out the status of mine.  I'm still hopeful (for both of us LOL).

Yes I attended a zoom information session and one of the instructors stated there was a lot of steps before decisions were sent out.  Im sure it's probably the same for both the CNL and DNP as they're both graduate school level.  She told all of us to reach out to the program manager to see where our application was in the process.  Of course no final decisions could be announced.  I reached out via email and was told my application was with the committee to which I asked what step was that in the process.  That question was never answered.

Previously I was told the DNP -no concentration cohort was fairly small.  I applied randomly the first weekend of February and before I even paid the nursingcas fee,  someone from the school was reaching out urging me thay to turn in my application.  Perhaps I took that as too good of a sign because since then  my application has been stuck at the submitted stage.  The past couple years, they've extended the DNP deadline.  Seeing as that hasn't happened this year, I probably should've went previous years.  Perhaps people were like me and decided to get over the lock down blues by returning to school LOL.

I really don't see how you aren't a shoe-in for acceptance!

I still haven't heard anything.  I am starting to wonder if I'll be accepted.  Several people got calls this week - even though it's Spring break!

Hi! I was wondering if there is a facebook page for the MSN Augusta campus!

One is to create a facebook page.  This link is allowed to be posted.

The other is to create a "Club" within the site, by clicking on the Breakroom link (upper left-hand corner, in the yellow bar) and in the green area, click Start a Breakroom Club.

Any other references or links posted are not TOS-approved, and will be removed.

We wish you success in your Nursing program!

Hello and a Happy New Year!

Does anyone know the deadline for completion of prereqs for Augusta University's MSN-CNL program? The application deadline is 15 February but could prereqs still be ongoing during the Summer? Thanks a lot for any info!
