Augusta University CNL/MSN Entry Fall 2022

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey, applications are set to open up August 30th, so I figured I’d get a topic going for those of us applying! I will be reapplying this year, with an improved GPA. I’m fairly certain my previous application wasn’t considered due to my GPA. (NursingCAS calculated 2.97, it’s now improved to 3.2, I had a really bad Freshman year and made a huge improvement over the next years) I have a ton of different medical and volunteering experience, A’s and B’s in my prereq courses, and my bachelors degree is in Health Science, which goes so well with the CNL expectations. I really think I’d make an excellent nurse, but the application process still makes me feel so odd! It’s hard to sum up my reasons for wanting to be a nurse into a short essay!

I also wanted to mention that I live in Augusta, and would love to let y’all know more about the area if you’re not from around here! Just ask me what questions you have!

I wish everyone the best of luck with applying, and in their future nursing careers! ✌️

I attended one of their info sessions before and they said they don’t look at applications with a GPA less than 3.0, no exceptions; the info session was in 2019 soo maybe things have changed, but maybe they still go by that rule! I applied last year, didn’t get accepted, I think mainly because I hadn’t completed 3 prereqs, I took 1 in Spring 2021 and had put I was taking 2 courses Summer 2021 so I think that played a big part since maybe they were like, 2 science courses in the Summer might not be doable. I got them done though and I am reapplying!!

Yeah, I’m really optimistic that I’ll be seriously considered with the improved GPA. How has your application been going this year? I just submitted mine and I’m already so anxious!
Good luck reapplying this year!!!

I currently am in the process of applying and was worried due to the fact my Cumulative GPA is a 2.97 and my pre-requisite a 3.33. I wonder if I improved my GPA before the fall semester, would they be willing to accept me?

This is an old thread, but has anyone received acceptance notifications yet?? I just submitted my app 2 weeks ago!

I actually have been religiously reading all the AU threads and it seems they're at a standstill on decision letters.  I applied for the DNP no concentration on 02/08 and have yet to receive a change in status other than submitted.  I know they sent out an email earlier this month saying to be patient so I'm assuming they're behind.  Also said they release decisions as groups as they go through applications as groups if this helps.

Thank you so much! This is helpful.  When you applied for the DNP program, did you have to create a ZeeMee profile?  I am seeing a lot more activity on the chat there than over here.  The last group of people who received acceptance calls got theirs on 3/11.  Nothing since.... My NursingCAS app was verified on 3/2.

On another note, my sister is currently in AU's DNP program, and she really likes it!  I wish you the best of luck

No I had never heard of zeemee, I need to swing on over there!  Thanks so much!

Creating a ZeeMee profile and making a short video about why you chose nursing was a part of the CNL/MSN application.  Because of that, there are a TON of us on there and people are sharing when they get the calls and any other helpful information.

Thanks so much, hopefully it will be helpful.  I was hoping to hear from them by the end of this week as that will be roughly 6 weeks and I was told its usually 6-8 weeks for those who do rolling admissions.  Never thought I'd be so anxious, makes me question restarting school LOL.  I have my FNP and PMHNP certifications.  This venture is just to come full circle on my college education while I feel the urge to do it.  Good luck to you!!

Wow! I'm trying to be like you!! I currently provide ABA therapy to kids with autism (an assistant behavior analyst), and I am hoping to get the PMHNP cert and work in child and adolescent psych.  I thought of going to FNP route too!  That's so awesome that you're pursuing the DNP.  Super cool ?
