Augusta University BSN Fall 2018 Cohort

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi, guys! I have applied to Augusta University's BSN program-Athens Campus for the Fall of 2018 and wanted to start a thread to compare stats and experiences with the application process. Comment below if you are planning on applying or already have applied! I mainly am just so eager to find out if I got in or not. Fingers crossed!

^^ same with me! Jansenrenee22 A few of my coworkers that just graduated from the Augusta program recommended places on Alexander Dr! I'm looking at the Glen on Alexander and Ten35 Alexander. Prices aren't too bad (~$600-$700/month) but definitely more expensive than what I paid for rent when I was at school in Milledgeville haha but they all have a ton of amenities

@danielle2434 Thanks!! I just found TEN35 Alexander and it looks pretty nice!!! Yeah they're more pricier than the Kennesaw dorms I lived in but thats okay lol

Hey guys, I got accepted into Mercer & Augusta's Athens Campus, but just got an email today that I got accepted into KSU's program (I was 100% ready for a deny letter & was very surprised! Yay!!) so I'll be denying Augusta.

KSU is cheaper overall because it's closer to home & easier to transition into for me.

So that should leave an opening for whoever is on waitlist for Athens :)! Hopefully it's one of you guys & your status changes hehe

Good luck in Nursing School everyone!!

Hey y'all! So after further research, I realized that Mercer and Augusta are closely related in price, so I've decided to stay close to home and attend Mercer. However, I already paid to reserve my spot and I know it can't be refunded. Do you think if I just don't attend orientation, they'll let go of my spot? I feel bad if I call and tell them lol Any suggestions?

I know it may be uncomfortable but you need to call them and let them know of your plans so they can release your spot to someone else that really wants it! I would just be honest and up front about the reason and I'm sure they would understand and probably get it often. It would be horrible to hold a spot if you aren't actually attending and leave someone with short notice that they got into school.

I agree with javagerty. There were a couple of schools that I had already payed the deposit for and had to give them a call about declining my acceptance. You calling now would give someone the chance to get in this early on instead of hearing in July!

Are any of y'all attending the new student meet and greet at the Athens campus next Friday? I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!

I am!! I'm really excited but pretty nervous to get everything up and rolling!

Beckyyy, I wouldn't be too worried about it being uncomfortable. They get it all the time especially since they do rolling admissions. Seriously, just call and give them a hey, I have decided to attend elsewhere so you can release my spot. I would bet the call lasts less than 3 min. If you don't call, and just don't show up to orientation, it would be a lot less likely that someone else would get the spot.

In other news... I still haven't seen a status change, nor has my campus changed. Lol.

Didn't you get into GGC @Ayaya? Thats so good! I didn't get in there, kinda upset since its the school I'm attending right now lol but I'm happy you got in! Its a really good program and very competitive!!! :) But yeah, I'm going to talk with financial aid at Mercer to make sure I am given the money to pay for school and then I'm going to release my spot! Thanks for the encouragement!

@beckyyy How competitive is the GGC program

only around 30 people get accepted and over 500 people apply to it. They change what they look at every semester. This semester they were looking at TEAs scores over 84 :)
