Augusta Univ-MSN/CNL- Fall 2019 Entry

Published

Hello Everyone! Is anyone here planning to apply to AU MSN/CNL program for Fall 2019? Also, is anyone here who is currently in the program? Too bad the forum doesnt let me PM yet to users. [h=1][/h]

Hello Everyone!

I have been lurking on this board, and reading this thread and older Augusta MSN-CNL threads for a while. I am sure now I will be applying for Fall 2019, so I thought I would introduce myself. I will be taking the GRE in a couple of weeks, and my transcripts and references are not ready yet.

I do not have any healthcare experience, but I have management experience. My GPA is probably going to be around 3.29 when NursingCAS compiles all of my different schools. I am hopeful that admissions will see I became a mostly A student once I was older. I have a feeling I may be one of the oldest students applying, as I will turn 40 at the end of October. I'm currently conflicted about Augusta Campus, versus Athens. Athens is closer to me, but I suspect I would be more focused in Augusta without a daily hour-long commute to Athens. Also, is it true Athens has some online courses, whereas Augusta is all live instruction?

I see on NursingCAS that there are four essay prompts. Are these in addition to a personal statement? Is the form with these essay prompts the supplemental application?

I am really excited and this program is definitely a perfect fit for me. Good luck everyone, and thanks for all the information.

Welcome! Nice to meet you.

To answer your question, Athens and Augusta students have the same schedule for classes. During 1st semester, we have 2 online classes (not just for Athens students). We might have different clinical days (in Athens, it's one long day; in Augusta, it splits into 2 days). Live instruction is depending on the class and the attending professor that day. If the professor is in Augusta, Athens students attend the lecture in class through video calling (and vice versa).

About commuting, it takes me an hour to get to Athens campus. I chose that option because I have a house and a family here. It works well for me so far. There are some benefits and costs for both campuses. Talk to your family and see what's best.

Good luck.

Hi guys. My baccalaureate degree is from the UK and i have taken some associates degrees courses in the US. My overall GPA will encompass the GPA of both or just my baccalaureate degree.

Thanks.

My bac is from Russia. Foreign GPA doesnt count.

Question - does my GPA from undergraduate get combined with GPA from the pre-requisite courses I have taken this year?

Yes, it will all count

I can't believe I'm saying this but I just got my acceptance letter in the mail and I am Athens bound!! I was shocked to get the letter as I thought I would have to go to an interview first!

That is amazing! Congrats! How long passed between submitting your application, your interview, and your acceptance?

I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU! CONGRATS! You deserve it!!!

What? Congrats! Thats great news! My application is being reviewed by AU.

Thank you all!! I am so excited. My application was verified on September 10th and I received my acceptance letter by mail on October 13th. I didn't have to attend an interview!! Good luck to everyone!

CONGRATS!!! That is wonderful news! I was wondering about that actually. I got an information packet saying that I would receive an admissions decision within 6 weeks of my application being verified and it said nothing about an interview. I'm sure they're required for most people but how exciting if not? not sure if I'm more nervous now though.
