Published

Hello Everyone! Is anyone here planning to apply to AU MSN/CNL program for Fall 2019? Also, is anyone here who is currently in the program? Too bad the forum doesnt let me PM yet to users. [h=1][/h]

CONGRATS dawgs1010!!! If you don't mind me asking, what was your undergrad and your stats??

I'm graduating from the University of Georgia with a biology degree. My GPA is a little lower at a 3.1 but I've taken gen chems, ochem, biochem, cell bio, microbio, physics, calculus, etc. I was really worried about my GPA but kept hoping they would take into account the classes I've taken! My GRE was a 213.

Nice! Did you have any healthcare experience?

Hi dawgs 1010. The 3.1 GPA was your overall GPA or was just your Biology degree GPA?

Once Again Congrats!!!!!

That is my overall GPA! I had a little shadowing experience but that's it. Thanks everyone, I can't wait to meet you all once you're accepted!!

Thanks .

Can somebody confirm this for me. Overall GPA can be calculated by adding u bac degree GPA + prerequisites course GPA and divide by 2.

I do not think that sounds correct. In my case I have several transcripts from different universities. I believe Overall GPA is calculated by the Points / GPA Hours for ALL classes ever taken.

If your prerequisites are included in your bac degree GPA then your method is effectively counting them twice. Also, even if prerequisites are not counted in your bachelor's degree, you cannot average two weighted averages. You have to add the sum of their respective points, and divide by the sum of their GPA Hours.

I agree with you. That's what it looks like on my NursingCAS application after they calculated GPA.
