Hi everyone,

I've been a lurker on allnurses for years, and finally am finishing up school to move forward for my Associates at Broward. Unfortunately, they have totally thrown a monkey wrench in the pre-req requirements, and now I'm going to have to wait until Jan 2015 possibly to get into that program!!!!! I have all pre res done except for the new math, CHM and new Micro pre-req. This is devastating. I'm wondering though, is it possible to take the Micro and Lab in the summer and somehow slip in for the August 2014 program, or am i bananas?

Don't forget Central students to bring ur student health portfolio to class too

North campus dean said the uniform is scrubs, and we can only wear polos almost at the end of the program or if our teachers allow us to come with it. So go with scrubs.

I'm wearing scrubs because that's all I could get in my size. All the polos looked like dresses on me lol

Hi,

Wearing scrubs & nursing shoes...haven't gotten white sneakers yet.

See you Monday Red .. Although I have no idea who you are lol

Gee, South and North are tightening up their uniform policies.

Hi guys,

I was wondering if the books that we have to purchase for this semester are going to be used throughout the program or just this semester? I am debating wether to purchase or rent them.

Thanks

Divafresco: How do you like Central. Ill be in the January program and I'm between North and Central. Im sure uve heard the stories from Central campus (here in this site)and id just like to get some feedback from an actual student that goes there. Thank you much!

What would you like to know?

I am almost sure I remember the dean at north saying during orientation that right before school starts he was sending out an email to say who has Tuesdays or Wednesdays for clinicals.Does anyone remember what he said regarding clinicals?

I don't really remember but we'll still have to spend the first two weeks going both days on campus. Maybe then they will tell us.

If you're starting out in process, count on going to campus lab for more than two weeks. The reason is to prepare you for Return Demo 1. Process 2 will prepare you for medication administration and you'll essentially be "living" in the lab. :)

Morning,

If you look at the schedule, for me it's north's schedule, it says we have hospital orientation on 9/30, 10/1 then a couple more days it says hospital, then a return demo in mid October with a couple of math quizzes then hospital on 11/18.

Stel, Monica and Red.. Maybe we can all meet up at North tomorrow. Let me know and I can send you my number.

Good luck to everyone at South & Central!
