Hi everyone,
I've been a lurker on allnurses for years, and finally am finishing up school to move forward for my Associates at Broward. Unfortunately, they have totally thrown a monkey wrench in the pre-req requirements, and now I'm going to have to wait until Jan 2015 possibly to get into that program!!!!! I have all pre res done except for the new math, CHM and new Micro pre-req. This is devastating. I'm wondering though, is it possible to take the Micro and Lab in the summer and somehow slip in for the August 2014 program, or am i bananas?
@NURkeish:
Yes, I purchased ALL necessary books for Process 1 and 2, except for the nursing kit and jarvis on 8/13. I have to visit the financial aide office because my books exceeded $900. Once financial aide release the rest on the money, I'll purchase the nursing kit (For process 2) and jarvis (For process 1).
@NURKEISH:
I brought some of my books new as well, I like to write and make notes in my books. My friend graduated in May from BC, so I have some of her books/notes. I still have ALL of my LPN books and notes for cross-references.
I'll shop smarter next time as well. I was informed to buy everything from Amazon. #EXPENSIVE
Make sure you have Jarvis... It is part of your required lab materials. I believe that is due on day 1 of clinicals. If you don't have it they may send you home. .. You need all those required items. .. stethoscope, jarvis, bp cuff, scissors, pen light, black pen... Other books I bought on Amazon. .. Much cheaper. If you get prime it is 2 day shipping. You just really must have potter clinical skills and fundamentals as well. I believe the rest you can pick up along the way.

They won't send you home if you're missing a book (Jarvis). I never even opened that darned book lol. I still have mine in my bag and I finished Process a year ago. :) Relax, you'll all be fine! :)

I'm attending South. Were you able to get all your books?
