Hi everyone,

I've been a lurker on allnurses for years, and finally am finishing up school to move forward for my Associates at Broward. Unfortunately, they have totally thrown a monkey wrench in the pre-req requirements, and now I'm going to have to wait until Jan 2015 possibly to get into that program!!!!! I have all pre res done except for the new math, CHM and new Micro pre-req. This is devastating. I'm wondering though, is it possible to take the Micro and Lab in the summer and somehow slip in for the August 2014 program, or am i bananas?

hey guys, i just found out that they'll start reviewing the application next week.....

Wow so soon, I was expecting them to review the applications in June. Now our stress levels will definitely escalate! Lol

they start reviewing them early and then send the letters in june...

Hey I'm sorry to hear that you didn't do so good on the a&p and math but now you have an idea of how the test is and you only have those 2 sections to worry about I know you'll do great when you retake it best of luck and kick that test's butt!!

Okay, I'll let you guys know now. After orientation, you're going to leave with a form to bring to a Quest Diagnostics location for a drug screen. I don't know if it's north campus or maybe just us being unlucky, but my entire class(May '14) is being saddled with this annoying confusion over missing drug screen paperwork.

I'll explain: when you go to Quest and complete the test, you are supposed to get three things: two carbon copies of the drug test form(donor copy for you; employer copy for the school) and a little receipt. What happened is everyone ended up getting only the copies or the receipt from Quest(them telling us that should be fine). Despite what we were told by various staff at school, today pretty much everyone has been told we're missing a drug screen document.

save yourselves our headache and make sure you get both, or even better ask about this at orientation. A silly issue like this can prevent you from going to a hospital for clinicals.

edit: also get all the certificates on this page printed www.browardhealth.org/?id=1646&sid=1 for some reason they decided to wait until the other day tell us we needed them done. Be warned: they'll take a couple hours to finish lol, some of them have a test at end too.

So soon? Well, I turned in my application in yesterday with hesi scores and everything. The lady told me they will start sending out acceptance letters by mid June.

@Twolinkk121 Thank you for the clarification on the paperwork needed, but I have some question because I'm getting confused. First of all, where did you go for your HSC certificates? and when you say get all the certificates on the page done, are we talking about the HSC certificate or something else?

So soon?

Was this directed to me? I say do 'em now because you really don't want them to saddle this on you when you're trying to make time to study.

I did all my HSC certs at CEUFast.com it'll only cost you $30 to do all of them there and it's relatively easy(you can do them in a day). You can actually go on the site now and do them all+taking the tests. The site just won't let you print certificates until you pay.

that browardhealth link I gave you is something totally different they threw at us a couple days ago. For some reason, they neglected to mention those certs on that page during any of the orientations. You'll have to do them all(except the instructor only ones obviously) at some point to get the green light for a clinical ticket.

Hey guys, there's a great site to practice nursing math ...check it out...http://www.laniertech.edu/downloads/Nursing%20Math.pdf

I have no status. I checked limited access application and status. How did you find the status? They posted the $20 for the application under receipts, but no application status??

For those who recently took the Hesi, was there any questions that stood out to you that you didnt know and had to look up? Im gonna retake this thing on Tuesday and im trying to read up on everything so i can pass it and be done. even more nervous now than before :shy:
