Hi everyone,

I've been a lurker on allnurses for years, and finally am finishing up school to move forward for my Associates at Broward. Unfortunately, they have totally thrown a monkey wrench in the pre-req requirements, and now I'm going to have to wait until Jan 2015 possibly to get into that program!!!!! I have all pre res done except for the new math, CHM and new Micro pre-req. This is devastating. I'm wondering though, is it possible to take the Micro and Lab in the summer and somehow slip in for the August 2014 program, or am i bananas?

I was considering it... but if the ASN is really hard I would imagine this would be even worse.

I was thinking the same thing

but the thing is you'll still probably be doing the same work if you think about it I think it's probably a few more classes (I mean not exactly a few) and 6 extra months...I mean you would really have to look into it though. I know yall dont receive f.aid so instead of paying for a ASN then a BSN you could just pay for the BSN and do the extra 6 months!

idk just a thought seems well worth it to me, if I could I would definitely take that route if I could, after these 18 months I plan on getting my BSN online (I think lol)...oh and a lot of the nurses I've met says the BSN is easy then the masters gets hard again! but of course the ASN is the hardest because you are starting from the bottom

Meme, I am not stressing over makeup.i can care less about it.i was just clarifying for some people what I found out through the school since this is what one of the topics of discussion was. There are clarifications for many topics on here.I think stressing over and over again am I going to pass or fail Is something of a waste of time to do to yourself,it's just setting yourself up for failure. We haven't even started yet and thinking negative is not going to help.just relax and enjoy what's ahead and go in with a positive clear head.Don't worry about all the other people who failed and who said what.Have enough confidence in yourself and your abilities to know your different and your going to approach it differently. You don't know their story or if it's even the truth.so if I continue to discuss other random topics of conversation that we are all talking about on here it's because I am relaxing and enjoying the journey and am not getting caught up in the negative what ifs when we haven't even started. Good luck everyone

Honestly after reading some of that syllabi, (i havent finished it yet my head started hurting and i took a nap, lol), What stuck out to me today was about failing or droppig out of the program too. Remediation or Retracking is NOT an option here. Im going to carefully comb through all this teachers rules and requirements and make sure my stuff is together. She is a tough one according to ratemyprofessor. I couldnt help but look at all 90 of us today and do the math based on past statistics. Only about half will probably make it and im researching everyday all the mistakes others made that caused them to have to retrack. "Aint nobody got time for that".

Also it was a pleasure to meet Josie and Alena from this thread today. Im sorry i used your governments names but I cant remember your usernames here, lol. When we are able to get books, im gonna get started on this syllabus and the assignments so if you girls want to form the study group early, text me, ill be ready to go!

There is a lot of pressure, I sure hope I don't make a mistake I don't want to retrack.

Yes the physical examination. I went to dr365 which worked out to 179 for titers, PPD and physical. They are cheaper.

By "check up" do you mean the physical? I need to get this done and I don't have insurance either. This stuff is so expensive. :-(

Not the ones I saw. There was no mention of a CD in the syllabus we got today.

Does Fundamentals book on Amazon have the CD and online code?

Huh???

lol its cool. What i did not realize until just now is that we have to do school lab days from 7:30AM to 7:30PM. I thought that was for the hospital only!!

I have a brand new uniform for sale. Size small scrub and pants=$30. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Can someone please tell me what day and time the mandatory orientations are for theory and clinical for the morning? I just switched to morning instead of evening. Btw for central!

How many of you on here are North people?
