Hi everyone,
I've been a lurker on allnurses for years, and finally am finishing up school to move forward for my Associates at Broward. Unfortunately, they have totally thrown a monkey wrench in the pre-req requirements, and now I'm going to have to wait until Jan 2015 possibly to get into that program!!!!! I have all pre res done except for the new math, CHM and new Micro pre-req. This is devastating. I'm wondering though, is it possible to take the Micro and Lab in the summer and somehow slip in for the August 2014 program, or am i bananas?
Can't wait to hear how Central campus orientation went!! Let us know guys :)Less than 1 week for our orientation North campus, excited to see everyone
Just got home after the orientation. It was informative but we went over the orientation packets, the physical stuff again and we got our syllabus and instructor information. The Dean is a really sweet lady she wasnt intimidating or scarey at all, but she stressed how strict this program is, and all our expectations at the hospitals for clinicals. She also talked about the math class, we'll have math but our first test wont be until Process two which i thought was odd but cool so we can focus on the other stuff. Our syllabus shows all the reading and our Mid term which will be Sept 22!!!!! Geez that scares me most. I just wish we could buy our books, the list is insane!
Do you think we will get an extension because I know all documents are supposed to be turned in by August 1st? I think I'm going to do both just in case.
The class starts on July 28th. It's the very same class that I registered for and completed my certificate last week after I realized the HOSA at ceufast was only an hour. Go on registration reference number is: 484647[/quote']
Yes, that booklist is incredibly long! I can't wait for orientation on South campus.

this is what I was referring to...I was addressing her because she was referring to what I said. @nursejackiern12bAs I had said last week..you can wear makeup, not clown makeup.Y ou can wear natural, light makeup but who wears heavy clown makeup in the afternoon anyways( I guess some people do).Someone said she said better live it up now during summer( referring to makeup) because it will be over with soon. She did say that but was referring to crazy nails and crazy hair colors.I confirmed it with Dr. Sandy at south and north campus. She said some people think light makeup is clown makeup.I thought it didn't sound right no makeup at all and knew in orientation I only heard her refer to No clown makeup.I mean I'm sure no patient wants to see everyone with no makeup first thing in the morning...lol...
This is REALLY good to hear, like Nelly said I hope Soth Campus math class is set up like this too that would give us more than enough time to study!!! we have to wait until August 22 for our orientation, by then our nerves will be kicking in because classes will be starting 3 days later!!! I'm sooooo READYYYY to start!!!Just got home after the orientation. Been reading the clinical information for both school and the hospital and omg, between the labs and all the requirements I might as well plan on being in school everyday till the Security guard kicks me out. Therese this thing called a Patient Profile we have to do at the beginning of every shift, i cant go into detail but geez louise, the work is never ending! If its not done we cant see our pts and are sent home for the day. Yikes. Im excited though so cheers to us all! We made it.
