Attire?

I accepted a position as the nurse educator for 17 physician offices. My question is, what would be the appropriate attire? My manager suggested scrubs, but I feel like business casual would be more appropriate. Opinions?

Comfort = scrubs

If your manager suggested scrubs take that as an informal instruction to wear scrubs.  Besides, they are more comfortable and in the long run more affordable than buying an entire business casual wardrobe as you can easily get away with wearing the same style/color scrubs so you'll need a much smaller work wardrobe.

I would suggest scrubs for the clinical area or lab and business attire when in class.

I will be the educator in only physician offices, so no lab or class. The manager is no longer there, so I guess I can decide for myself. I might wait and see what the office managers wear and go by that.

I prefer scrubs with a nice embroidered lab coat. Approachable but with a bit of authority. Only issue would be patients confusing you for a doc but that will probably happen anyway. Congratulations on your new role!

Buy attractive clothing, nothing flashy. Wool skirts (maybe pleated) nice wool blend sweaters over a cotton shirt or a silk shirt with a skirt alone. Look like you know how to dress with style. Scrubs look like you just got out of a OR. Most quality surgeons actually buy good wool suits,  so should you. Dress for the job, not like the janitor.
