Hello everyone!
I submitted my application to Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC at the beginning of its opening. And I just wanted to create this topic for those of us who are anxiously waiting to hear a response ?. And also for us future colleagues to get to know one another as well!
If anyone knows the time it takes to get a call or the process in its entirety please feel free to comment ?

I graduate late May and take the NCLEX in late June. Novant sounds like a really good opportunity..I wonder if I should reapply for the fall in August..I'm scared of putting all my eggs in one basket though! Ahhh
You can still apply for Novant. They are going to do second round interviews so it's not too late. They already offered positions to first round. So you can apply and be interviewed for 2nd round interviews.

Journey is just what they call their residency. Your badge clearly says Journey when you are with a preceptor until you are ready to be on your own. The last group was hired in June or July of 2020 and they were on their own the week of Christmas. Which critical care floor? Which hospital? I have accepted a position in critical care at Atrium.
I will be on the progressive care unit at CMC Main! Which floor are you on?
Hey guys,
I am graduating in August, 2021. I need to get a job in the Charlotte area! My parents live in the area so I want to be close to them. The hospitals in my area do not have these new grad residency programs. It looks like interviews for Summer graduates on Novant say they won't be held until September! I graduate in early August and really wanted to have a job already lined up. Does anyone know when Atriums will open up for the Summer? Any tips for getting accepted as someone who did not go to school in NC?

They already did Summer interviews and gave offers for Summer 2021. You won't be considered for Summer because you have to graduate in May/June 2021. I graduate in May 2021. I did the session, interviewed 2/23 and was offered a job first week in March for the Residency Program.
Since you finish in August, you will have to apply to NH Residency FALL Program (apply Mid July). It says interview September, but they will be sending out invitations to interview before then. (Just like ours said March, but we interviewed in Feb). Now I have to just focus on my last 1.5 months of school since I already have the job lined up.
If I was you I would apply in July for the Fall Residency or earlier to get it over with. They will send out more information once you apply, because they will have your email.
Good look ?
BTW Atrium Summer Residency is closed. You will have to apply for Fall 2021 residency for Atrium or Novant.

I don’t want any of the ones everyone wants- mother baby or anything with labor or anything in any ICU, so I’ll still apply just in case. I think if I choose to only apply to Novant, I have to wait until next Spring to start working. I graduate in August and I’m not wasting that much time not making money.
I am glad you are applying! I always say don't be discouraged. It's cliche but. it's true that you only fail when you don't try. Atrium has so many hospitals in the Charlotte area for you to find a position. I would note in your cover letter your enthusiasm about being in the greater Charlotte area and of course working at Atrium.

Thanks :) great encouragement!!
Are new grads allowed to pick up extra shifts at atrium (if that’s where you work still)? Just curious—the last hospital I worked at as a tech, anyone (techs, RNs, Phlebotomy) could pick up as many extra shifts as you wanted online, even if you just started working there.
