ATRIUM New Grad Residency Spring 2021

Hello everyone! 

I submitted my application to Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC at the beginning of its opening. And I just wanted to create this topic for those of us who are anxiously waiting to hear a response ?. And also for us future colleagues to get to know one another as well! 

If anyone knows the time it takes to get a call or the process in its entirety please feel free to comment ?

I used to work for Atrium back in the day as a CNA, when I reached out to my old unit manager she said had I not reached out their unit wouldn’t have considered my application because they do not hire out of state. They tend to mostly hire from their affiliated schools.  
 

I am sure it differs with units. 
 

I am out of state and just last night I received the email from Novant to interview but I’ve already accepted a position at Atrium. 

Thank you for the information. I was really thinking I’d be working at Atrium, but I better find other places to apply lollll

It's people that got accepted for Novant that's out of state. Plenty of people. I know one person that got an offer and he's moving from Hawaii.

I am in the same spot, I am from Wisconsin and nobody even looked at my app from atrium ... ?

Really?!?! I hate that we have to do residencies now because no one can get a job easily LOL a few years ago, you just got a nursing job wherever however ?

I am from out of state- just accepted a position in critical care at Novant. I applied to atrium and basically heard nothing back LOL

Thank you for letting me know ? What state did you move from?

 -will they interview you before you passed the NCLEX?! 

-& do you know if they have an August/September start? I see they just have Spring on there right now. I’m graduating August 24. Thanks again ??

I am from out of state and have interviewed on two units for an Atrium Health hospital.  I'm sure this really varies by hospital and even by unit though!  I wouldn't lose hope yet!!

Moving from New Hampshire! Yes I interviewed in feb and I will graduate/take NCLEX in May. They have a July and august start date for us, but I think you would have a different application window and start date. I think if you go to their website there should be some info that gives a timeline for applying based on your graduation date! I’m really happy with Novant, the process has been really smooth so far and I’ve felt way more informed than with anywhere else  I’ve applied.

Yes we all got interviewed and accepted offers and most of uS don't graduate until May. We have to let them know when we schedule our NCLEX.

 

For the Summer graduates, the start dates are July and August. Depends when you take the NCLEX and pass. 

 

Since you graduate in August, then you should maybe apply for next Spring residency. The applications are due end of August.

I was banking on Atrium and didn't know about Novant until a week ago (I'm out of state) so I think I may have applied too late. I graduate late May and take the NCLEX in late June. Novant sounds like a really good opportunity..I wonder if I should reapply for the fall in August..I'm scared of putting all my eggs in one basket though! Ahhh

I wouldn't give up on Atrium. Between their  two schools, they graduate maybe 100-150. There are way more residency positions than that. Yes, the most desirable get filled first. However, there are plenty of needs on med-surg floors across the multiple campuses. They are still interviewing and if you accept a less desirable position, just transfer internally after a year.
