Can I just declare Georgia as my primary state even though I don't have a Georgia address yet (still in the process of apartment hunting).
I'm from Texas and Georgia will take compact states' licensing.

Oh so you are actually going to test with your home state first? I'm from KS and it's also a compact state but I don't want to go through the hassle of submitting another application by endorsement. My cousin lives in Georgia and I wonder if I could just use her address as the mailing address. This whole process is just so confusing.

That is awesome, I am moving from North Carolina.

My nursing program recommended that we test in our home state first and apply through endorsement. I am going to test in NC first and apply for a GA license through endorsement. Should be a fairly easy process, just extra fees.
I have noticed that a lot of new nursing graduates ask the question,"Where should I take my NCLEX exam?". Here is the answer. I took this information directly from the National Council Of The State Boards Of Nursing website (the organization that administers the NCLEX).
The NCLEX can be taken in any state convenient to you. The results will be directed to the board of nursing where you applied for your authorization to test (ATT) and licensure. If you are seeking a multi-state license and reside in a compact state, you should apply for a license in the state where you intend to legally reside and/or practice.
Hi all,
For those of you who have received their official letter via email, did you guys read it through? I was trying to find the 2 year commitment letter but I did not see it. Am I missing something? I found out that a friend of a friend started the nurse residency last year and she told me that she had signed a 2 year contract with Emory.

They got rid of it is what another new grad told me. I don't have the 2 year commitment on my contract either. I was offered relocation assistance that said I would need to pay it back if I leave before 12 months (not 2 year)

Yes I am. I emailed the recruiter for Emory and was told that I could test in my home state first and they will accept compact licenses.
