ATL Summer 2022 Residency

Updated:   Published

HI! its early but I'm starting a thread for those graduating may/Summer of 2022 & are applying to atl metro hospitals ( Emory, Piedmont, Northside, CHOA,Grady & WellStar)  Emory, WellStar & CHOA have their applications open already. early bird always catches the worm (;  let's find roomies & those working on the same future floor as you!

I just got the email offer letter with the location/pay and start date. However, I spoke with the recruiter and because I have scheduled shadowing with the unit, they told me that the "official letter" is a packet and longer/detailed - so I'm assuming that would include the context of the 2 year commitment. Has anyone officially received this document?

I'm confused about the 2 year agreement because I reached out to the recruiter and they told me there was no time commitment agreement unless you take the relocation money

I talked a nurse who did the residency at Emory two years ago and said there is a 2-year contract, but you can easily move to another unit just have to be within the same hospital system.

The nurse I talked to ended to traveling after residency ended but stay on with the hospital PRN until the end of her contract.

I received an offer from wellstar but I was an internal applicant wellstar base pay without any experience I believe is 28 or 29 but they do pay well for experience such as tech, nurse extern, Lpn, or paramedic experience also they pay shift difference and specialty pay depending on what unit you work in like the ER, L&D, and ICU’s but you don’t get specialty pay until you are off of orientation. Also they are having a hiring expo tomorrow

Hi everyone! I accepted an offer at EUH. I would love to connect with other nurses who are moving to the ATL nurses/possibly create a FB page to find roommates as well.
