ATL Residency Spring 2024

Published

Hi just wanted to start a thread for nurse residencies for Spring 2024 in Atlanta. I've applied to CHOA, Emory, Northside, NGMC, and Piedmont. Has anyone else applied or heard anything?

Same! What in women services did you want to do? Did you join the waitlist?

Specializes in Peds.

My number 1 is NICU and then mother/baby.

I joined the waitlist

Same here, I wanted NICU so bad but I had a feeling they were going to have very limited spots! I'm going to keep applying all over because ultimately NICU is where I truly wanna be and I hope you do the same as well! It's so nice to be talking to a future nicu nurse! So many ppl I know want L&D. I just can't ?

did you apply out of state or just instate?

Specializes in Peds.

Yes, I felt the same way after reading about it.
It is nice. I love the NICU and kids so I think it'd be amazing. I'm applying allover for sure.
I am in Florida, how about you?

Yes! I feel the same! The feeling in NICU and PICU, I have never had in other specialties. LOL I'm tried but it felt forced. I'm in Florida too and so far I have applied to nurse residency in Texas, Georgia and North Carolina wbu

I'm waiting on some of the Florida ones to open up. Do you know any that have opened up yet?

Specializes in Peds.

Oh those are awesome places to be! I would love north carolina but my hubby is transferring to Georgia so currently only Georgia at the moment.
that's cool your in Florida too! I'm in southwest Florida, moved here from Boca Raton

Oh OK OK I completely understand! Im

currently in the south Florida area!

I was able to apply to 3 units for Emory, I also have applied to CHOA & was offered a position in the ED. I wanted to interview for Grady but their event is the day of my finals. I'll be new to Atlanta as well!!

What units did you apply for? And how long did it take for CHOA to get back to you? Like what was the timeline

I applied to Neuro ICU, MICU, & oncology. & for CHOA I applied as soon as the applications opened August 1st, got the video about 2-3 days later, heard from the recruiter a week later & scheduled my interview. She called me back the following week. So all together about 3 weeks. Which units did you apply for with both?

So for Emory, NICU was my 1st choice but when I when I sent to sign up it was all filled. I even tried mother/baby and L&D and it was the same. So I just join the wait list.
for CHOA, I selected NICU, PICU and PEDS general. I did the video assessment and my status was under consideration when I last checked. I was trying to see if I could find a recruiter info to follow up on my application
