ASU- Summer/Fall 2016

Published

Hey everyone! I thought this would be a great place to talk about Applications, TEAS Questions/Scores, Titers, and just getting to know each other!! Which semester are you applying for? Questions? It'll be fun! :) Introduce yourself!!!

I am applying for the fall term downtown. I'm nervous but totally excited! :)

I've been studying non-stop since early this morning for my Patho exam tomorrow, and I'm definitely distracted by Thursday's Junior 1 meeting!! At least I'm not the only one! :geek:

How do you feel about the exam??

I have a lot riding on this exam because if I do well on it, I'll end up with an A in the class, and I really want an A in pathophysiology. :)

If it's like the last exam regarding difficulty, then I think I'll do fine. Having access to our textbook and PowerPoint slides/notes has been really helpful.

Where did you go for your drug screening? The locations listed on my CastleBranch form do not take urine samples for drug testing, according to their website. Calling the phone numbers sends me through an automated operator maze, and gives me the sample collection locations associated with SonoraQuest. However, those labs can't confirm that they actually accept my form, and CastleBranch can't (or won't) tell me whether those are acceptable sites. I don't have a lot of time because I CANNOT take any time off work before the program starts, and I need to take the screening by friday :(

If anybody could tell me where they went for their screening, it would be a load off my mind. (and bladder)

Hi Chembear,

I know this isn't much help, but I'm not sure where we are supposed to go for drug screenings. I have a feeling we'll find out this information tomorrow during the Junior 1 information session. If they don't mention it during the session, you can always call the nursing advising office and if one of the student operators doesn't know, then you can make an over-the-phone appointment with an advisor who can help you get this all figured out. =)

I went to Sonora Quest in Anthem and had no problem. I just handed them my print out form from Castle Branch. I didn't even think to call ahead, I just showed up....

Remember that employees at sonora quest may not know what you are asking for.... I don't see why it should be a problem to just show up.

Are the both of you getting your drug screening done now because of the summer session starting in a few weeks, or because of some deadline that I don't know about (for all programs)? I didn't hear anything about a deadline for my cohort, as I don't start until the fall, but I'm just checking as I want to make sure that I didn't miss something! :)

The latest I can take it is Friday because of Summer. Jennifer said that 3150 N Alma School Rd Chandler, AZ 85224 works as a testing site, and a few other students had already asked because the some of the CB registration forms only listed locations that don't actually do the drug screening.

Thanks for letting me know! I was starting to think I missed something! I can't even find the drug screen form on my CB portal, so i'll have to ask someone tomorrow at the meeting. I don't even know when the insurance info, health clearance, or drug screen is due. The packet we received at the advancement workshop said that we'd receive a "Health clearance" form with our acceptance letters, but I didn't receive one. Did anyone receive one in their acceptance letters?

I didn't receive one either. I'm assuming they will hand them out tomorrow and explain everything as well as they possibly can. I'll definitely ask if they don't bring it up though.

Last semester they sent out an additional email with the packets and all the due dates about a week after acceptance letters, but I think this semester is much different in the fact that they are running behind, so it would make sense for them to just give us all that information at the meeting this time.

I received an e-mail last week with information on due dates for the health screen, drug screen, background check, etc. The form to bring to your doctor for the health screen was in the pdf file of all of the info. As for the drug screen, I called the castle branch number (888-914-7279) to locate a facility closer to me so I was able to go to a lab just a couple miles from my house. I am a Summer admit so maybe those entering in the Fall have not yet received this info.
