I spoke to a few current CRNAs and they told me as long as the program is giving all the experiences needed (as far as clinicals go) and the courses needed, which they have being accredited, then it doesn’t matter too much where you go. Yes, you need to have a good foundation to do well on boards but a lot of it comes down to the type of student you are and the work you put in to prep for that. Most programs have hiccup moments with boards when it’s their first year introducing new classes/concepts. It’s unfortunate we don’t have this year’s numbers to compare but I do believe you couldn’t go wrong selecting this program. Of course if you have other options that you feel more secure about then by all means go for that but it does come down to how well you go out of your way to get the education you need in order to be successful. With most programs being online right now due to COVID, I think the platform for education will be similar throughout the nation anyways. Just my take from the advice I received and hope that helps answer your question!

@PACURN11 no problem! I do recall now that the faculty and the students mentioned they were given exceptional clinical experience because of the program's status with the hospitals we rotate through and, although COVID slowed things down, students felt they still were able to get the clinical experiences they wanted and request specific clinical experiences they wanted more exposure in!

From the interview I had, there were two students and that question was asked when the faculty left. They mentioned they both felt really supported by not only the faculty but the students as well. One had mentioned she really wouldn’t have gone anywhere else if she had the chance to choose again and said that despite being a current third year. I do want more info on how they felt about clinicals and if they think they got all the experiences they needed but the students were a big reason I felt comfortable with the program! Also, if you look at the 2020 thread, a current student explained his first year experience in the comments!

You could probably reach out to the admissions director and ask.

Yes they email us what we need to know about the interview so we aren’t completely blindsided but mention it’s tough. Not sure what they’ll do this year though.

From past threads, it’s a four step interview. First an individual interview with the panel, individual critical care test, group interview, then you end it with a writing sample. Being that it is a zoom interview this year, I’m not sure what it’ll be like but I know it’ll be intense regardless. The admissions department lets you know what to prepare for and to expect a challenging interview from what I’ve heard

Thank you! It's honestly hard to ever know. I just end up thinking I sucked at the end of interviews haha. But everyone was very nice and easy to talk to! Good luck on your interview!
