So, my school starts clinical rotation in 2 weeks and this semester I have been assigned to the oncology/pulmonary floor along with 7-8 other classmates for a total of 9 12 hour shifts. I am already really nervous, because I have NO idea what to expect at clinicals, but more than one person told me that oncology is one of the most depressing clinical rotations to have. Anyone who has any experience on this unit, and can impart any advice or wisdom, or really any advice about how to prepare for first clinical experience at all, it would be greatly appreciated! It seems like many in my class have some sort of health care related experience and I have none at all and really no clue what to expect out of the experience. TIA!

My first rotation is also in an oncology unit so any thoughts/experiences to that end would be appreciated here as well.
