I am writing a paper on genetics. The case study involves a couple that just found out through pre-natal testing that their baby has Tay-Sachs. The first task is to identify 3-5 members of an interdisciplinary team from whom I can obtain information for the couple's first visit. Yes the tasks are vague. I'm lost really. I mean, who would they be talking to besides the high risk OB and a genetic counsler? In the scenario, I am the case manager. Thanks for any help. Obviously my mind is just not open to completing this paper.

How about mental health professionals to assist in counseling the patients in the tough choices ahead such as abortion. Perhaps religious leaders also. What about doctors such as neurologist to discuss prognosis and treatments (Although there is not much, death usual by age 4). Other specialist to discuss any current clinical trials in this disease. That's all I can think of off top of my head.
One other thing you might try is to contact a research institute in that area and explain your assignment. Maybe someone will help you, but be sure to have done some research on your own before making contact so you do not come off looking like someone just trying to get spoon fed the information. Here is one possible place you might try.

Thank you. I could include the neurologist, I just wasn't sure if it would overlap the information the genetic counsler would give them. Plus another section of the paper wants us to cover diagnosis, ttreatment and prognosis so I'm trying to save that info. I have all the info for the rest of the paper it was just the care team part that is throwing me off. I can easily give 3-5 for after the birth. Mental Health professional was an awesome suggestion. Thanks for getting me started!
I would seriously consider using NTSAD as a resource, you might get lucky. I have done such things on many research papers and have usually received help. Here is another site you might want to view.

Good luck. If you like, when you think your ready to submit your paper, I can look over it for you, I worked a few semesters in our schools writing center. Although not an issue with material content, I am better with MLA than APA.
How nice of you! Thanks so much! :redbeathe
