As I was Watching ER tonight(tv show)....

Nursing Students General Students

Published

Here is the play by play.

A pt. coughed up some vomit on a new graduate nurse working in the ER, and immediatly afterwards, the new grad took over her gloves and stated that "I did not go to nursing school for this, I QUIT" and walks out.

I was laughing histerically at the depiction of this. I'm not saying that it never happens, but seemed to dog on nurses a little bit, or at least some of the stereotypes of the field.

[i wonder if there is a website where we could check out the highlights of the shows?

Try going to http://www.nbc.com and scrolling to find ER. Then there should be an episode guide that lets you choose each season and episode. Hope this helps.

Specializes in ER.

I won't be able to stand it if Abby goes back to med school, bot with that great speech she gave about why she loved nursing, and didn't want to be a doc.

I'll have to boycott the show.

Specializes in orthopaedics, perioperative.

I am getting scared now... Carter is in the Congo (right?), Abby the nurse is now going back to med school to become Dr. Abby, and a new nurse character is coming on to "replace" her. Is Abby's character coming back to County's ER as a med student ----> replacing Carter? Does this mean the end for Carter working in County's ER? He has been there since the beginning of the show! I hope no more people leave. It is getting hard to keep track of it all some days. I :kiss ER!

If you want a good re-cap of ER (in excrutiating detail), go to televisionwithoutpity.com. In the upper left corner, select ER from the Pick a Show menu box. They re-cap a lot of shows, but sometimes it takes a few days after the show has aired.

Actually, "Carter is in the Congo" because in real life, he and his wife just had a baby. He is taking a sort of FMLA for 6 weeks and the show just "put him in the Congo". He WILL be back!!!;)

Specializes in Medical/Surgical.

There is going to be a new nurse coming to ER. Its the same actress that played Velma in Scooby Doo the movie. Check out the NBC website and you'll see her picture on there. I think it said that she is going to be playing a single mother.

Specializes in NICU.

I missed a few episodes a little while ago. Somebody PLEASE tell me what happened to nurse Carol?

If these characters love their profession so much, then why do all of them look so miserable all the time?

lol..I haven't watched ER since George Clooney, and Julia Margales (sp??) w/the brown curly hair was on there.
