If someone was arrested at 18 and fingerprinted and the judge threw out your case and said he would throw out the file would it still show up on FBI records?

Thats a hard one. I have heard even if you were arrested and the charges were droped. It will always be on your recored that you were arrested. But im not positively sure. Your best bet is to either run a background check on yourself or call a lawyer and ask them or call the BON. I wish you the best of luck! but honesty is the best when your dealing with hte BON

Don't lie to the BON. It's not worth taking the chance. They will be more upset about a lie than a case that got thrown out.

If you get fingerprinted it will show up no matter what guilty or not guilty...With that said, If a judge threw it out you BY law can expunge that from your record and nobody can see it. But on the other hand if you werent found guilty of anything then dont worry you can say no i wasnt conviceted of this crime
thanks

You can go to fbi.gov and go to where it says use our resources on the left side and click on more services. The next page will say How do I then you click on the link that says request an fbi id record or rap sheet. That will give you instructions to find out if it is still on your records. If it doesn't show up on this no one will find out about it except military Top Secret SCI clearance people lol! I know b/c I had to do this last week.
After you print out the card take it to the local police department to get a pro to do your fingerprints. Call first though b/c they usually have a fee like 10 dollars.
Good luck.

janel- you may want to contact an attoreny and ask that your charge be expunged rom your record.. it will show up as no file or dismissed, or whatever happened in court, but once its on your record it shows up until you do something to get it off..., if your state allows for it... good luck
main entry: ex-punge
pronunciation: ik-'sp&nj
function: transitive verb
inflected form(s): ex-punged; ex-pung-ing
etymology: latin expungere to mark for deletion by dots, from ex- + pungere to prick -- more at pungent
1 : to strike out, obliterate, or mark for deletion
2 : to efface completely : destroy
- ex-pung-er noun
But if it got thrown out anyone who asks if you were chrged with something you can honestly say no But i would get it expunged im pretty sure if you were found not guilty you can get it off your record no prblem in all states

My significant other is a public defender - if the case was thrown out and thus you were not convicted of a crime, I would not disclose. Getting arrested is not the same as being convicted. You should not have to disclose arrests.
