Arkansas State 2019 CRNA

Published

So, I completed my application to Arkansas State's MSN CRNA program beginning in 2019. I was relieved to have everything submitted by the priority deadline. Who else out there is trying for this school? Anyone have any information about the interview process?

I feel like the interview was more about trying to get know your personality, true interest, and ability to handle the stress of the program. Basically if you were a right fit and could handle it.

I want to thank you for joining the thread Magic Milk. You make a couple of valid points. Like: 1) Another round of interviews is unlikely by next week since they would have to give the applicants around 10-14 days in advance (I would think). and

2) You're right about the 66 approximate interviews. Twenty-something each day.

Thank you for your contribution MM.

If things stand as they are, more than 50% of those interviewed will be accepted.

Not bad at all. Very well worth the trip to Jonesboro. Very excited!

If there are about 66 interviews and they are taking about 30-35 students, then it's basically a 45-53% chance you're in if they don't have another round of interviews. I'm hoping they will find enough quality RNs during this round.

After reading last years thread about the 2018 cohort, I'm a bit nervous now that I wasn't asked any clinical questions nor did they go over my pretest which I felt was somewhat easy. The applicants that did not get in had something in common... they were not asked any clinical questions. I hope it's not a foreshadow for me not getting in lol

What did you find the 2018 thread under?

Good morning everyone! Thank you all so much for your insightful comments. I know this whole process has been beyond stressful. I feel like the pre-test went well. The interview went ok. Went over one question on the test. Had several get to know you questions and maybe 1 clinical question. They also went over the ins and outs of the program and how rigorous it was, how they help prepare the students, and what to expect, clinical sites...etc. I know I'm definitely wanting to hear something soon...it's pretty much all I can think about, lol. I'm sure everybody did great in their interview and we are all overthinking :). Good luck to everyone in the weeks ahead!

You know MM, I had also read last years thread and never got that impression. Perhaps I should go back and re-read. I too felt the pretest was easy except for one question. I disregarded it since was not particularly interesting (math question).

Hi MICURN30, Welcome.

You are right, we are all overthinking it. But, that's part of the fun isn't it, the mental torture. It was a great learning experience. I'm already applying to other schools as backup. This dream is for the taking.

Let's just all hope that there are no more interviews after this week, and if that's the case, we literally have about a 50% chance of getting in. Trying to focus on that!

Yeah, absolutely. Gotta have a plan B.

HI Ran, haha, i think we differ in our ideas of fun :) j/k

Indeed, it was a learning experience.

What other schools are you looking into? Where are you from?

Gluck
