Hey everyone!

I just wanted to start a new thread for questions and/or just conversation about Spr 2018 cep placement -maricopa cc/university.

Congrats to all that were able to apply or reapply for CEP!!! Good luck! (I am anxiously waiting) ( :

I heard that Glendale CC has close to 300 applicants, but they also have more places than most. I applied to Estrella and Ottawa. I'm hoping we hear something in the next few weeks, or it really won't give much time to get organized with the online classes that begin in the fall!!

Awesome thank you so much! I really hope we get in! I'm excited to start my nursing career. Does anybody know how they choose applicants? Do they go off of cc or university?

It's done on points, and it's done on CC. As long as you meet the requirements for the University, then you'll be accepted there because it is mainly (if not all) online. It is the CC that are restricted on the number of places they have available.

The point system is done based on your scores for GPA and HESI, plus there are additional points to get based on whether you have a previous degree, and also whether you have all the classes completed (all co/pre reqs for the university....in other words, nothing "in progress").

I don't know the exact scoring system, but from what I understand they take your GPA and multiply by 2.5. Maximum score is therefore a 10, if you have a 4.0 GPA. The HESI is scored based on a sliding scale. 95.1-100% gives you 5 points, 90.1-95% gives you 4, and so on.....(don't quote me on exact cut-off scores, though, but it's something along those lines). Previous bachelors degree gives you 2 points, previous AA degree, 1 point, etc...

So, with the GPA scores - every single 0.1 is valuable, same with the HESI.

I don't know their "formula" though - I guess they will cream off the top scores, then decide on those based on possible other factors?? Who knows the exact method they use....???

Hi Gmac12. I too received the same email from ASU and I am hoping for the same. The email also requested I apply to ASU and send my transcripts to help avoid any setbacks in this long process. Hopefully we will hear back this week.

FYI, I applied to PC/GWCC and NAU/ASU.

That's a little worrisome - I applied to Ottawa, and haven't heard a thing :banghead:

Don't be worried. When I applied (2015), UIU didn't send out emails like ASU did. Each uni does their own thing.

I just heard back from Ottawa - I wrote directly and asked them if they'd received my application, and they had, so that's a relief!

Also - an FYI - she told me that Maricopa has received 1100 applications total, for 850 spaces, and that her understanding is that acceptance emails will be sent to your Maricopa email sometime between the end of June and the middle of July! Good luck everybody!

Anyone else here applying to Estrella???

Appeartly the placement has begun. I have seen acceptance posts but only from Mesa cc applicants. Check emails!!! Hopefully all community colleges will begin to send them today or through the week ( :

Congrats to those who have been placed. I was wondering if anyone has heard about placement at Phoenix College?

I recently spoke to someone in the College of Nursing at ASU and from what I understood, we are UNofficially accepted to ASU but now we need to be accepted by Maricopa. It is up to them if we are placed this term. Hope this kinda helps as I was more worried about hearing from the university.
