Spring 2018 CEP

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to start a new thread for questions and/or just conversation about Spr 2018 cep placement -maricopa cc/university.

Congrats to all that were able to apply or reapply for CEP!!! Good luck! (I am anxiously waiting) ( :

Hi everybody, I just joined after searching the great and powerful Google for ANY information about the current round of placements for spring 2018. I am getting sick of watching the refresh animation at the top of my email.

Come to find out....placements are happening; just not at the school I put as my first choice, CGCC.

Just out of morbid curiosity and my rampant insecurity, to those that have gotten the golden email from MCC- what was your GPA, HESI scores, prior education, ect? I'll share mine as a show of good faith, hahaha. GPA-3.7, HESI-math 98-english 93.3, I have an associate's degree, and I am a veteran (I doubt it counts for anything to be honest). Thanks for the reading, and it is nice to meet others who are suffering!

You have great scores I'm sure your email is coming soon:). I had a 4.0 , 94 eng, 92 math, no previous degree.

I recently spoke to someone in the College of Nursing at ASU and from what I understood, we are UNofficially accepted to ASU but now we need to be accepted by Maricopa. It is up to them if we are placed this term. Hope this kinda helps as I was more worried about hearing from the university.

Thank you that makes sense. I'm also wondering if anyone has heard from Phoenix, maybe us getting a asu email can give us a better chance of getting in with maricopa

Here's the scoop on the University's: whichever one you chose, as long as you meet their requirements, you'll be accepted. Period. For example, if the Uni asks for a minimum GPA of 3.25, and you have a GPA of 3.5, plus the re/co reqs the Uni requirwa, then you'll be placed with that University if you get a place with the CC. It is the Community college that makes the decision, really. If the CC accepts you, then you will definitely have a place with the University!

Thanks for replying Kaylynn! I am sure you are right; I have let my nerves take over this last month of waiting. Congrats on being admitted, your grades are awesome! I never realized getting INTO the program would be such an accomplishment in and of itself.

I think each CC is on its own individual timeline for sending out acceptance emails. I have several friends who applied to Glendale, and nobody has heard anything yet. I can only assume it's based on size of the classes....for example, Glendale has 96 seats spread over 3 different schedules, whereas Estrella (where I appled) only has 24. I'm sure there must be far more organizing needed with those class sizes! Plus, some CC are not 100% CEP, making it harder too I would imagine!

I just got my acceptance letter from Chandler-Gilbert and ASU! Granted ASU was a given when I got into a CC.

Posting this for anyone that was shooting for CGCC.
