MSC LPN program

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hello everyone. I am also new to the forum. I am also interested in the LPN program at MSC. I hope to get in the program starting in February. Howevever, I didn't see any info pertaining to prereqs on their website besides the NET, shots, fingerprint card, CPR, ect. Does anyone know if CNA certification A&P or other classes are required? Can anyone offer any advice and or info pertaining to what the scheduling might be like for classes and clinicals? I work at night so I'm hoping this program will be doable. Any information about your experience or what to expect will be greatly appreciated.

NET, with scores of 50 in math and 60 in reading. The higher the better at this school. They take highest scores only. Once you do their tutorial on the website, as instructed, and present your NET scores, they will give you an application. From there you will go see a Dr. and get all of the neccesary immunizations and Dr. Ok's for this program. then turn in compeleted app along with doing your financial aid. That's about it. I didn't have high NET scores, so I ended up NOT applying. But, I got into the Southwest skill center! Good luck to you!

Ok I can't beleive I'm going to write this, but do not go after your LPN at MSC. I graduated from MSC and currently work as a LPN, when I went to MSC the cost of the LPN program was $2500, its now 7500, the RN programs at the Community college are 11K.... The job market for LPNs here in PHX suck, too many LPNs out and not enough jobs. Save the money and work towards your RN... I loved MSC when I was there, but in todays job market the LPN isn't really needed, which is sad...

Thanks for the insight, but I have no plans to stay in Arizona. However, I know it's been along time since you went to MSC. Are you aware of the prereqs at all? Are they the same as MCC?

I don't know what I'm going to do. Had plans to finish pre-reqs by October but dropped my 201 because Block B was so overwhelming. Also, our graduation was moved to January. There are some very unhappy people now in Block C. I'm just trying to regroup and make a new plan. It is hard because I'm angry with the school for the changes they made and I'm angry with myself for not be able to get my prereqs done like I planned. With that said, I'm looking into LPN - BSN programs vs LPN-RN. I have a job when I graduate and I have a job that will help with tution. The problem is, I'm so tired of school and studying and not having a life. I want a break and think that if I take one I may not go back. It makes sense to keep going and get it over with. Each Friday I have my clinical and that helps to refresh me and assure me I'm on the right track but than back to work and school...........well, I go seven days a week. Three days school and three days work and one day clinicals. There are a lot of us doing this. We are getting sick and staying sick. Run down and tired.......You get it......Just BARELY seeing the light at the end of tunnel at this point!!! It will all be worth it. It will al be worth. It will all be worth it???????????????
