Hey there everyone. I just wanted to know if there is a community for military wives who are in nursing school. Sometimes I feel so alone being a nursing student with my husband deployed to Iraq. Everyone says its nice to have him away to study, but its just as hard beause I have to study hard and worry about his safety. Is there anyone on the same boat with me who know what I am going through?
Well, I'm not a wife...I have no spouse benefits lol.
I am, however a military girlfriend. My boyfriend is stationed about 5 and a half hours from me (USAF). I've gone through deployments...not the most amazing thing in the world, but not the worst either...it was pretty tough during M/S 1 that's for sure.
I'll be graduating, Lord willing, in 362 days (can you tell I'm counting down?). I'll be living in SC until I graduate. He'll most likely be PCSing in the summer/early fall time frame.
The good thing about nursing though is no matter where I go (with him), there should be a good job market.
I'm a Navy wife. My husband has been on shore duty for most of the time I've been here, but he is up for new orders in less than a year, and he'll be having to go back out to sea. I'll be in NS, with 3 small kids. Luckily my mom is going to help me out! If it weren't for her I'd be in big trouble!!!
I hope you all have your families back very soon! Christmas sucks when your alone-I know!!!!

I recognize that this post is old but... I'm an Air Force wife and have been for over two years now. I'm graduating in May with my RN-BSN and I'm currently 9 months pregnant (EEK, I know). My husband is not deployed at the moment but it's been very tough being a military wife and full-time nursing student - add being pregnant to the equation. It's hard enough trying to do well in school and clinicals; being a wife AND being flexible "for the mission" of the military is even tougher. I struggle with just making sure my hubby has dinners to take to work, as his schedule is not the same as mine. There is few down time while in nursing school and the time that I do have free, I do not want to spend it cooking or cleaning. For the time being, I'm keeping my eye on the prize - my VERY hard-earned BSN - but it's pretty tough and I've had a breakdown or two. My advice to military moms who want to pursue the medical field: make sure you are prepared to deal with even more stress!
I'm not a military wife anymore, but I am up for my 3rd deployment during my second year. I don't know anyone that understands what I am dealing with. Ive heard "Omg, how will you do clinicals" "tell them you can't go until you graduate" and other crazy things, but never one supportive word. My heart goes out to all of you, I've been on both sides its not easy.

I have a boyfriend who is in the military and it is really hard to be apart, but on the other hand it has its advantages because instead of spending time with them you can study
Good luck!!
