Is there a difference between private or state schools? Which are easier to get in?
Thank you a lot.
I do not have the good chances. I have GPA 3.7, planning to take CCRN. GRE is a problem too, because English is a second language for me. I am almost ready to give up the dream of becoming CRNA.

Private are generally easier to get into because they're much more expensive.

There are no CRNA schools that are easy to get into. The admissions process is very competitive, as it should be. I mean no offense, but if your english isn't good enough to take the GRE, how will you be able to handle the coursework and pass the big test?
Don't give up on your dream. Why don't you contact a few schools, explain your situation and ask what you can do to improve your chances for admission.
my english is good enough to get a or a- in my nursing classes, i just have difficult time with essays,(which is a part of gre). i think that if i get in i will be able to handle the coursework and pass the board exam .
thank you!
I was lucky, I took the GRE before they added the writing format. Good luck!

My school and I think most other schools require the TOEFL for students whose first language is not English. Also to be honest with you, if you took the GRE and your Quantitative score was high and your essay and vocab were lower they would probably take that into consideration since your first language is not English, plus CRNA being a science/math based program they tend to look at your Quantitative scores more than your vocab scores.
I wouldn't give up on your dream, call and talk to the admissions people of different programs.

The MAT doesn't require an essay and quite a few schools will accept the MAT in place of the GRE. Check into that.

That's not true unless you're thinking less will apply b/c of tuition and therefore the ratio of accepted:not accepted is lower. There are no easy ways into school.
Don't give up your dream. The school I'm associated with has accepted several foreign grad RNs into CRNA school. Good luck
skipaway, I wasn't suggesting that private schools are easy to get into.
I AM suggesting that, given the vast difference in tuition between private and stte-sponsored schools, a medium-tier school will have less competition. Just look at the waiting lists for ASN programs and the relative speed of entry into a private school.

Don't be so hard on yourself....You have a great GPA, you're getting the experience you need, preparing for the CCRN. I think you are totally on the right track and will be a very competitive candidate. The chem/math/science seems to be the most difficult for students and if you can prove that you can succeed in these classes you'll be fine. Keep your head up and be confident in yourself!!!...and don't give up!!! One more thing...being bilingual is an advantage that you have over many candidates...use it to your advantage NOT as a detriment!!!! Good luck to you...

I don't care what the tuition CRNA schools are packed full with applicants wanting to get in.

Your GPA is excellent; if you pass the CCRN you will have no problems getting into a school.
Many schools don't even require the GRE if your GPA is above a certain level.
The fact that you are from outside of the US, speak a different language, etc are actually GREAT advantages over other applicants.
