Hello,
I would like some information on the program, how do you like it? Would you pick this school again if you had the chance? I am applying to the program that is being held here in San Diego. I am nervous about the online portion of the program, is it do-able?
Thanks!
hi everyonecongrats to you all for getting into the program....I have some questions for you if you dont mind....I am a stay at home mom now of soon to be 2 kids and I am interested in this program as well......I sent the transcript and I will find out next week what I have left but I know I do have still at least 5 prereq to take ....so I want to find out some info please to see how doable it will be for me to attend this program
Did any of you take prereq online? I forgot to mention I am here in San Diego as well....so if you took them online where did you do it?
Also what is the schedule for the nursing program that you were told about? from what I got from your posts there are 2 days for clinicals but what about the online classes? what time during the day ? are they everyday? and how many?
sorry if I ask too much but I am trying to figure out if I can do it
thank you all
Hi Laura,
Congrats on the soon to be baby!
We all have yet to start, we start June 2nd but from the information I know I'll try to answer your questions. This semester there will be one day that we are in the hospital for eight hours. Prior to that clinical day we are required to attend the clinical site for a bit to pick a patient to treat. We are also scheduled to be at the lab for two days, two hours each. The online portion is set up in modules so you don't necessarily sign on at a certain time but you set your own schedule by studying and completing assignments. We hear though that it is very demanding, like two full time jobs (at least this is what one counselor said). This is the most I can give you right now, check back once we all start!
As far as pre-reqs go, I did not do any of them online. I do not believe you can do Anatomy, Physiology or Microbiology online (although I may be wrong) but some of the easy ones like nutrition and such, I am sure you could find some. Check out some of our local CCs.
Best of luck to you, good luck with the new addition too! :heartbeat

No problem at all.
Wow, you put a year into law school and then dropped? Good for you for deciding it wasn't for you and for going through with your decision. I hope you like nursing school! My husband says he can't handle any more career changes, LOL. We have been together six years and I have never not been a student with him in my life. He's ready for me to be done...only 14 more months!
This first semester (summer) we have four classes and four classes again in the fall.
Ask more questions once the semester starts, I am sure we will have more answers! Good luck on the pre-reqs!!
I did do the entrance exam online, its pretty quick and easy, same stuff from our first degree, LOL.
So when filling out the Financial Aid applications, are we considered Undergrads or Graduate students? I'm guessing Undergrads since we're getting another Bachelor's?
Thanks!!!
Oh, so are we supposed to wear scrubs on Monday for Orientation/Critical Thinking? If so, we don't have to wear the OU scrubs right? I thought one of the ladies said we could wear any scrubs as long as they matched as well as any closed toe shoe- maybe this is only for skills lab though. I'm confused

Yes, we are considered undergrads for the fafsa. I checked the box "5th year undergrad."

I was wondering the same thing about the first day, what do we wear?
And yes, we are considered juniors.

Hi there! I took a few classes online. History, PoliSci, and Nutrition. I took them through Miramar, City, and Mesa College. You could login at pretty much anytime of the day (sometimes the network was down for maintenance, but it was never a problem for me). It was pretty nice.
Good luck & congrats on the new addition to the family!!!
