Hello,
I would like some information on the program, how do you like it? Would you pick this school again if you had the chance? I am applying to the program that is being held here in San Diego. I am nervous about the online portion of the program, is it do-able?
Thanks!
Hi there! I took a few classes online. History, PoliSci, and Nutrition. I took them through Miramar, City, and Mesa College. You could login at pretty much anytime of the day (sometimes the network was down for maintenance, but it was never a problem for me). It was pretty nice.Good luck & congrats on the new addition to the family!!!
thank you so much
so from your experience these were easy classes//??? did you take them one at the time? I should laugh at myself...these kind of classes were so easy when I was in college but now with 2 kids I see things different:D
I forgot to ask you ...how many times a year we can apply to the program?
I have another question for you all ...where did you take A&P and MICRO...and if anyone had an "easier" experience in particular
GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL NEXT WEEK....YOU SHOULD BE VERY PROUD OF YOURSELF

The online classes I took weren't too time consuming, and pretty easy over all. I took PoliSci during Winter Intersession. Then I took 4 classes last semester- Micro, Developmental Psych, Nutrition (online), and History (online) and also worked full time & felt that I was constantly busy, but the work load was doable. I really liked all of my professors, and felt that most of them really tried to work with the students if life conflicted with class (History is the only class I'm not sure of since I didn't need to reschedule tests, etc).
Also, here's where I took the classes & the corresponding professor:
Micro- Mesa with Phelps
Developmental Psych- Mesa with Miyoshi
Nutrition- Mesa online with Ambrose
History- Miramar online with Parvine-Gaffari (this might be spelled wrong)
I also took Anatomy & Physiology at Mesa, but I don't remember the names of the professors. I happened to take those one at a time so it wasn't that bad.
OU takes applications 3 times a year which is great!
Anyway, hope this helps :)
Which one is the "new" one? Thanks!
Sorry, I was unclear. She referred me back to her old email about shipping, etc so I am guessing we need to return the Perry & Potter Fundamentals of Nursing and purchase Harkreader & Thobaben Fundamentals of nursing: Caring and clinical judgement.
I can't return mine, I bought it used so I'm going to try and re-sale it. Argh.
The drug guides are different but only in years published, I already have the 2007 and I refuse to buy another one, LOL.
I do think I'm going to buy the Ackley Nursing daignosis handbook though even though its not on this list, it was on the old one and I think it would be handy to have it when writing care plans. Is anyone else buying this book too?
Thanks! I was able to get the Ackley book from the library. You can take nursing textbooks out from local hospital libraries. I know there are a lot of different nursing care plan books. You can probably buy it used too. I think the drug guide may be on line too...on StatRef or the OVID system.

Thanks for the info. I figure if my drug guide doesn't have the drug than I will look it up online, LOL.
So did you check it out for a while? How does that work? I have a nursing plan book already, wonder if that will do the same as the Ackley book.

Have you checked your OU email? That is where I have been receiving my emails from her.
