Not in Nevada.. not that I know of anyway. I have found that hospitals are moving away from paying off student loans in return for X number of years working for them. There are many hospitals still willing give between $2,000 - $4,000 a semester while in nursing school in return for 2 or 3 years of service.
I think the only way to get $43,000 in loans payed off is to sign up with the military nurse corps. All branches of the military have similar health professional programs, and you can either do reserve or go active duty. I know of a student in my class that will be enlisting in the Navy Nurse Corp and they will pay off all of his student loans, but he of course will be with the Navy for 4 years.

The VA has a debt forgiveness program that will pay up to $38,000.00 and there is NERLB that requires a committment to work in a facility that faces a nurse shortage. Go to google and put in "debt forgiveness+hospitals+programs.

The Valley Health System Hospitals all
have an adopt-a-student program.:welcome:
They are opening a new 100 plus bed Hospital right around the corner from me in Centennial Hills before the end of the year.
Your tuition IS mighty high, but they may work with you. The program states:
The Valley Health System (VHS) is offering payment, of up to $2,000 per semester or a program maximum of $8,000, to the schools on your behalf to cover tuition, books, uniforms and fees that are required for your education in the form of a Promissory Note. Your selection and participation in the Adopt-A-Student Program requires your commitment to become employed with the Valley Health System immediately upon graduation for a minimum of two years as a full-time registered nurse. Satisfying this commitment renders the loan paid in full.

I think that they have discontinued this program for the time being. It looks like this post is from 3 years ago, but you could always call them and find out. I looked on their website and it looks like they have removed the info for the adopt-a-student program. Again I would suggest calling them.

All programs in the Valley have been discontinued till further notice. There are some federal scholarships that won't come available till March that might help if your going to school during that time.
Other wise I would say go military at this time, new grad positions are being given to "family members" for the most part, and the military is the only place that I know of that you only have to wait six weeks before your good to go.
