The content guide tells you which books/articles/chapters to read, how the exam is broken down by content area percentage-wise. It's in outline form.
EC also offers guided learning packages for certain exams. They usually include a textbook and a more detailed study guide.
Certain publishing companies issue their own study guides for EC exams, but they aren't affiliated with Excelsior.

Content guides are for Excelsior's Nursing Content exams. The Study Guide is for the CPNE (Clinical Performance in Nursing Examination) that you are eligible (required)to take when you are finished with all of the Nursing Concepts exams. The Study Guide is known affectionately (this is meant snidely) to Excelsior nursing students as "the carjack" because of it's astonishing size.
